GBMy car has been to Motts on three … My car has been to Motts on three seperate occassions now. The first was when when i got the car home (after just having bought it) only to discover two crease marks on the nearside doors. Motts did a superb job with this, so when i wanted some more work done i returned there. I had managed to scrape the lower part of the rear bumper and asked them to repair and respray that area. On collection i noticed several small air holes in the paint. I mentioned this to Lawrence (the owner) who agreed it wasn't right. However, on cleaning the car properly when i got home. I found several patches of what appear to be laquer overspray. I mentioned this when i took the car back for remedial work (i had removed it with Acetone) I had foolishly also asked to have the bonnet resprayed due to stone chips. On returning to pick up i noticed a small shallow 'dink' in the bonnet. I had a discussion with Lawrence (not the owner) who gave me the impression he thought i was pulling a fast one! When i got the car home it was cleaned proprly again. On doing this i found a patch of hazed paintwork near the windscreen and yet more laquer overspray! This is very long-winded i admit. My points of complaint really are these: Why do i have keep removing overspray? Why are vehicles not properly cleaned before pickup? if they were some of these faults would be spotted. And last but not least, why do you Lawrence Mott, not phone to resolve issues when your staff say you will? Perhaps if i owned a Ferrari instead of a run-of-the-mill saloon it would be a different story?? EDIT: I've now had contact from the owner of this business. He stated during the call that he wanted to get the dink in the bonnet put right. He said he would call me to arrange this when their 'paintless dent repair guy' was there. This should have been week beginning the 16th of October.....and the call never came! On further inspection, i now think this is actually another paint defect as it doesn't show in most lighting situations anyway. This is an unacceptable shambles and all i really wanted was a FREE apology for the multiple instances of overspray and paint imperfections. Yes, for the money i expect perfection.....

GBPersonal recommendation of MOTTS It is only this year that I have found and used Motts Body Repair after my car was taken there by the AA. The car a 2003 Mercedes CLK320 was damaged badly by a huge pothole. Two months later, after the splendid repair, my car was written off after a driver behind me, who was not paying attention on the A14, drove into the back of me. Both no fault insurance accidents caused unimaginable red tape telephone calls and wasted time. BUT as the car was at MOTTS both times, they took over and dealt with insurance companies for me. Their care and engineering work is excellent and I can only recommend them. Another strong part of the firm is that they treat you as well as they deal with your cars. After I was driven into, I drove straight to MOTTS and didn`t realise what a state of shock I was in, but the employers there did and it was amazing how thoughtful and kind they took care of me. This is something not found generally. They are special.
