GBMisinformation and safety issues When the moving semi truck arrived the driver had difficulty negotiating the uphill driveway because the contractor had not removed the snow and ice. In addition the alleyway was blocked with parked service vehicles which prevented the driver accessing the rental unit. This cost me an additional $350 in fees to the driver because my household items had to be carried much further increasing the time to unload the truck. Finally, my partner mistakenly tried to unlock the unit next to ours and found that the key she had not only unlocked the unit next to ours but ours unit as well. Both lock sets were provided by the storage unit office. I am quite disappointed in the service provided and will be taking this up with the manager at the Parklawn facility in Rockville, MD

GBSold me a space that wasn't available Due to a delay in our new house closing in the new city to be removed to three hours away, I called storage.com to get a storage space for a full house worth of stuff. They found me what I thought was the only 10 x 30 space available in the city of Vancouver Washington. I was a static and very thankful to get it. 10 minutes later the manager of the storage facility called me and said that he had no idea what storage.com was telling me, because that space is not available and they have not had a 10 x 30' space available for months and months. I was left scrambling to find any adequate space for my moving van to move things into the next morning. I would NOT recommend Storage.com.

GBFive stars, but for one major sticking point I was in immediate need of a storage facility, so I found storage.com online. Plus: their website was easy to navigate, and the user experience was very positive. It was fast and easy to locate a nearby facility, and just as easy to reserve an available storage space. MINUS: The first facility (BA Self Storage in Los Angeles) was open, but there was no staff in their office. A sign on the window stated that they were on-site doing maintenance, and gave a number to call for service. I called the number and left a voicemail. After waiting five minutes, I called a second time, again leaving a voicemail. After waiting another ten minutes, I decided to call storage.com for service. Plus: I reached a storage.com representative almost immediately. I told that I'd been waiting fifteen minutes for service at the facility-- the rep apologized and offered to call the facility personally. He placed he on hold and called the facility. Someone finally showed up as I waited on hold-- he didn't greet me or apologize for keeping me waiting, he just walked into the office. Plus: I decided that I wanted to do business anyplace other than BA Self Storage. When the rep got back on the phone, he asked if I was being served. I told him yes, but that I'd rather go to another facility . The rep was not only very professional in handling my request, he also quickly reserved another space that had just become available less thana mile away. Plus: The second facility, Extra Space Storage in Hollywood, was a 180-degree turn from BA Self Storage. The manager, Martin, greeted me upon arrival, asked about my needs for storage and gave me available options. I'd chosen a space and completed our transaction in less time than it took for anyone at BA Self Storage to even show up to the office. An occasional review of storage.com's network of clients should ensure a consistent level of professionalism and quality of service. If not for the considerable ding from BA Self Storage, this would be a five-star review. Still, I'd recommend storage.com to anyone who needs a nearby storage facility.
