They really should have a negative… They really should have a negative stars review. I concur with others here, this company is nothing but a fraud. We too got a binding estimate to move us from LA to WI. Binding estimate of $6400 1100 cubic feet. Movers showed up on the last day of our lease four hours late, loaded half the truck and said "Oh you have a lot more stuff, do you want us to get another truck?" at this point we have no choice, we can't stay. By 8PM when they were done, they presented the new BOL stating it was 2700 cubic feet, and new total is now over $16k! We get in our car to start our four day drive and when I look at the copy of the BOL, it is completely blank. I spend the next week trying to get a legible copy of this and an explanation re: the increase in price. I can reach no one and no messages, no texts and finally an email that said Tom Johnson will reach me. He doesn't and I finally get to speak to someone two weeks later via a phone number attached to my Credit Card down payment transaction. He answers Hello? I say are you affiliated with Mama Movers? He says "I may be, why?". Hold on , and then miraculously Tom calls us, but can't tell us anything. Time goes on and on and on and four weeks in, we get a call from Tom saying he doesn't want us to pay the actual driver, but to go to Chase bank and make a direct deposit into their account We did refuse that, and he said our stuff was in IL in two days. Another week goes by and we get a random text from a Kaite demanding $1111 on top of the remaining $5125 left that we owe. We try calling her back and she doesn't answer. She said 'the driver is one hour away'. Yet we hear nothing until yesterday 12/14 with a guy called "AJ" and he is trying to deliver. He claims that the city won't let the semi down our city street and we need to pay an extra $1 per cubic foot (so $2700) MORE in cash to get our stuff. After back and forth with my husband he says look 'For $2000 more IN CASH' you can get your stuff tonight or not get it at all. I go to the bank get the cash, try to get a postal money order (which is the only other option they would accept), but of course, they have showed up too late and the post office is jammed and closing in 15 minutes. I get to the house and no one is wearing masks. they say they don't have masks, I need to provide them. Then they say they somehow got all of our stuff into one small truck. They open the truck and OMG everything is damaged. Our sleep number mattress is sliced open, furniture scratched and banged up so badly it couldn't be repaired. mattresses dirty, with foot prints on them. Boxes ripped open and rifled through. Rugs with mold on them, grill knobs missing and sides dented. They are dropping boxes, throwing boxes, dragging items on the sidewalk. They fill up our first floor home and ask 'where does this go?' when told upstairs or downstairs they then say "We don't do stairs". If you can't get it into your house we will just leave it on the front lawn or the street. We don't care! They jammed things so you could not walk anywhere in the house. When we pushed back on the stairs they told us that Mama Movers 'fell on hard times and went bankrupt. When they were evicted from their warehouse, and AJ Jobs 'bought' our load" and they can charge whatever they want and do whatever they want or don't what they don't want to'. My husband noticed that three standing tool carts full of his tools were missing, and asked about them. The guys said "what are you calling us thieves?" to which we said "YES!" we were in the house trying to find room and all of a sudden we hear the truck leave. they put the rest of the stuff in the driveway and drove off. THEN we noticed we were missing almost all our furniture: nightstands, dressers, head boards, bed frames, kitchen table, living room chairs, end tables, kitchen chairs, ladders, and the tool boxes. All things that are probably easy enough to sell. And no idea where the heck it is! We got an attorney, because we now are approaching tens of thousands of dollars in damages and lost goods, not to mention the fact we were charged 3 times the original quote. The drivers were driving a rented truck and would not share their driver's licenses. I'm convinced they were crooks. I can't stress enough STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total rip off Total rip off They picked my belonging up in California August 27th... NO Update calls because they can’t speak to driver according to them. October 13 I get a 2 hour notice that the delivery is coming and driver refuses delivery to my home In North Carolina as promised. This is where they screw you. $1100 dollars more that the $4700 I was quoted to put my belongings on a smaller truck to deliver. So I rented a truck and told them to meet me in a random parking lot to retrieve my white glove service from mamas moving company. Guess what, the lot was full of rentals pulling other orders off the truck. So they can charge these poor souls a SHUTTLE CHARGE Why have the semi Driver deliver to all the customers on the truck .... when you can pre-stage Smaller trucks in a parking lot and charge each customer $1100 They also put your move on a BIDDING BOARD if its not local, and the lowest random person or driver bids the job. That’s why mama movers is giving you the “ I can’t talk to the driver story. I LOST ALOT AND MY BELONGING ARE HIGHLY DAMAGED. MAMAS MOVING COMPANY WILL GET A DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION COMPLAINT FROM THIS 55 yr old single women. This was criminal.... seriously. And yes they ask for money up front. They are a company with a great looking website, and home office is an apartment in Los Angeles. Everything they offer is third party....hence this is why their prices are so high. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU DONT WANT TO WAIT MONTHS FOR YOUR BELONGS. What isn’t missing is damaged.

If I could go back in time I would run… If I could go back in time I would run like heck from this company. Fast. I hired them on September 29 2010 to do a move of eight boxes, one Christmas tree box, 16 other pieces of furniture (most of which were small) for $2000 to go from CA to another state. Pricey, yes, but I figured they guaranteed the delivery in 3 to 7 days so I paid the $500 deposit plus 75% of the remaining balance on pickup. Bear in mind I'm not a Karen or Kyle here. I even paid the movers who came (late, but still they showed) a $175.00 cash tip. I have ABSOLUTELY no issue with paying extra for good and prompt and professional service. Was promised by the sales rep 'Christian', on the binding quote, in writing, that everything would be delivered in 3 to 7 days. Not business days .. Days. Company refused to honor that written promise. They then tried to say it should be 'business days' which would expire on 10/09/2020 for 3 to 7 business days. They are now saying they are refusing to honor THAT written promise. Now they are saying four more days. Again .. their sales rep made in writing a guarantee via email which specifically stated 3 to 7 days. When a company makes a promise to induce you into buying their services, they are legally and ethically responsible to do whatever it takes to keep those promises. If they make a deliberately false statement to induce you to buy? That is the CLASSIC and LEGAL definition of fraud in most states. And legally, their misrepresentation to get me to buy invalidated anything else they said on their contract about delivery times. Things like this are why car dealers get in trouble when some shady sales rep makes promises they cant deliver on to make the sale. I've already called HBPD and they told me to call the Orange County District Attorney. I have called them and I have my complaint already written out. Barring a completely unexpected outbreak of ethics and honesty and good customer service from this company I will be sending my complaint to the District Attorney tomorrow. PS .. They use fake names at this company. One of the representatives who answered their phone said his name was - I kid you not - Michael Kors. The supervisor is supposedly named 'John Black' Oh, and people at Mama Movers? If something somehow happens to our stuff, like it gets damaged or goes missing because I am posting this review? I can amend my complaint to the District Attorney. You'd do well to remember this and to do the honorable thing and deliver out stuff, undamaged, nothing missing, and it would be a gesture of good customer service to waive the balance after all of this.

They are scammers- not movers Zero stars should be an option. This is not a real, reputable company. They are scammers. I've never left a review but feel it is my civic duty to warn people to not trust them. I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone. After what I've been through, and am still going through, I can only assume that any positive review on here is fake. A legitimate, reputable company would attempt to do what they were paid to do- move my stuff. A good company might actually care about customer satisfaction. An honest company would give a bid and then do the work for the price that was agreed upon BEFORE they were hired. Mama movers is none of those things. Simply put, they are criminals and I don't understand how they are even allowed to operate. My story: they came to my home, looked in every cupboard, closet, and room, and gave us a "binding" price. We even got other bids, they agreed to match the lowest one- they said all the right things so we hired them. Then on moving day- after the truck had left with everything we own- they said it'd be $7000 more. Outrageous! I wish that was the worst- that was 6 weeks ago for a cross country move. We are a month past the promised delivery date, and we still don't have our things. They don't return calls, we can never talk to anyone with any decision making power, they lie and say anything to get you off the phone but nothing ever happens. This is past incompetence and now into fraud and theft. We've been living in an empty house for 6 weeks. We have kids and a life we are trying to get on with, and as you can tell if you made it this far in my review, we are completely stressed and exhausted. Trying to get our belongings and irreplaceable sentimental items back has now become our full time job. Hoping this review will save someone from making the mistake we did. Go with one of the larger, national reputable companies. Update: after posting this review we were contacted by somebody else who hired Mama Movers and is currently going through the exact and thing as us. If you are looking into hiring them- run!
