It also gives me an idea of questions to ask and how much information to place into the specs before quote is given. However, I which the site would give more information on what areas they can provide quotes for. Other than the guides, once I was ready for to hear a quote, I was disappointed that no one in my area was available through them. Guides were so helpful in giving me realistic cost that I only took 1 star away for contractors not being available in area. The Guides also gave me indications where I may have to do somethings myself to save on cost like self demo/removal and smaller installation like fixtures or flooring.

Solar-Estimate.org helped me get an actual idea of the costs without an appt… Solar-Estimate.org was a useful website in helping me to get a price range for how much a solar energy system would cost for our property. I've never before learned this much information without having to schedule a time for someone to come out and quote it. I've not wanted to do that yet because this is very early stages for us because we have other financial goals to reach first, but at least now I know that owning a solar energy system is attainable based on the information provided on this website. Mind you, I've not confirmed the accuracy of this info yet but I feel it is reasonable based on what I've researched so far and based on what other people who have actually had solar quotes done have told me. Even though I didn't schedule any appointments for estimates, I like that I received quite detailed information immediately, and at this point, I've only been contacted a couple of times by text and maybe 3 phone calls so far from local solar companies. I was worried about being hounded by sales people but so far it's not been bad.
