About CoolFire Trainer

CoolFire Trainer is the innovative world leader that provides a realistic, safe, and cost-effective way to dry fire using your own handgun anytime, anywhere. To this day, we are still the only innovators that provide this technology. Our drop-in recoiling Barrels fit right in your handgun, allowing you to control the recoil of each shot and train with a level of realism that airsoft, pellet, and non-guns simply cannot compete with. Your live barrel is removed from the firearm, so there is no chamber and, therefore, no way to introduce live ammunition. Your investment pays for itself by the time you finish the first CO2 tank, yet it gives years of use. Visit our website to learn more!

Hurry up and wait… Asked CoolFire the correct part number to finish out the extend co2 tank on the end of the barrel, still waiting over a month and 3rd reply asking for the correct part number, had to ask twice for an RMA after they gave me the wrong part number now I have to send it back.

Gold package This system(I got the gold package) is the best option for getting confident with your every day carry gun. Being able to shoot with my gun and in any way I want(around corners, prone, or walking/running) in your house is an experience that you just cannot replicate. If you can afford it you will not regret it. Game changer.

Peter C. Many problems with the device... Maintenance after maintenance, replacement of sealing rings, etc. Lots to do. Support responds after long weeks.... Price to quality 1/5.

Excellent system I did alot of research and made alot of phone calls to CoolFire before purchasing. Their staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and well-versed in their products. I use it several times a week in conjunction with the Mantis X10 dry fire trainer. Both of them together are a very cost-effective way to practice shooting fundamentals. I'm not John Wick, and Jerry Miculek, Max Michel, and Ben Stoeger are not looking over their shoulders to see how I'm doing in the competition. But this is a very affordable way to get practice in with the pistol. 1000 rds of 9mm FMJ Blaser ammo is going for about $265 shipped at the time of this review. I'm into the CoolFire and the Mantis X for about $800 so roughly the equivalent of 3 cases of Blaser FMJ shipped. Range sessions with a semi-auto are usually about 150-200 rds each. At 200 rounds per session, I have expended the 3 cases of Blaser in 15 sessions. At 150 rds per range visit, I can stretch it out to 20 sessions. The bottom line is that the CoolFire and Mantis X have paid for themselves in under a year (if used weekly). This does not account for range memberships or fees, gas used driving to the range, or the time needed to block out at least 45 minutes to an hour for the range...add those into the mix and it pays for itself quicker. I just go downstairs, shoot for 15-20 minutes, and then put everything away for next time. 30 minutes tops to get 200 rds down range with feedback and corrections. You cannot beat this. I would also like to point out that since this does not use ammunition, I can now apply the money I've saved into either ammunition or reloading supplies, (or groceries - Let's go Brandon!) during an election year where people are freaking out. I wish I had purchased this system sooner. It's worth the money.

Sadly not as great as expected and advertised been playing around for a good month now. I also bought another one for a Glock 17 before and it was working great. But the new one I got for my Walther does not perform as good as the other one. For some reason every time I holster the gun, draw and try to shoot, there is no recoil, only after I move the gun around and pull the trigger again I get the recoil. It seams like the CO2 gets somehow stuck and does not "flow" when I change position form "holster to aim and pulling the trigger" right away. Which makes holster and draw based training impossible and NOT fun at all. Never had this issue on my Glock, might be a Walther specific problem but for that price I was hoping that it works as advertised. Fairy disappointing, sadly...
