German Foundations should be the go-to method German Foundations is a life saver! Laura's methodology has made German grammar MUCH easier to understand and drastically reduces the amount of memorization needed. I still have a lot of work to do to recall everything on the fly, but this course receives a well-earned recommendation from me.

Essential to learning the German language Two years into German on Duolingo, I've learned a lot but am constantly aware of the need to understand German grammar. You can get through Duolingo without understanding the rules of a language but you will be severely limited in your ability to understand and speak the language. German with Laura provides that missing, vital element in a clear, logical, easy to follow manner. I'm a bit more than 25% o the way through her German Foundations 1 course and it is proving to be well worth the price. Laura is an excellent teacher and the course is very well designed and presented.

A step-change in learning German! I studied German in high school and have tried picking it up on and off again over the last twenty years without much success - until now. For the first time, I have started to understand the rules behind the grammar, instead of just trying to memorise set combinations. Laura's course explains German--the reasons, the rules, the process. Her charts are excellent resources that offer a way to visualize the language and make connections and internalize the rules. I am completely satisfied with the course.
