Essential to learning the German language Two years into German on Duolingo, I've learned a lot but am constantly aware of the need to understand German grammar. You can get through Duolingo without understanding the rules of a language but you will be severely limited in your ability to understand and speak the language. German with Laura provides that missing, vital element in a clear, logical, easy to follow manner. I'm a bit more than 25% o the way through her German Foundations 1 course and it is proving to be well worth the price. Laura is an excellent teacher and the course is very well designed and presented.

It comes in small chunks that are understandable. The word drills help to make the lesson sink in and the ability to chat and ask questions clears up any misunderstanding. She explains things well and also improves your confidence level, before even tackling the language itself. Would you rather dive right into the language? No. I would rather be given the confidence from the teacher, before diving right in.

A different approach to the German language… A different approach to the difficulties of German with organization that I have not seen elsewhere including a chart of endings that help with figuring out noun gender. It does stress some memory but not the rote memory of learning the gender of each noun. I have just begun with her and am at page 5 of one of her books. 3 books are sold for $25 total and appear necessary to me to go with her course.
