crap customer care Ok so I brought a camcorder and once charged I went to use it and it was broke within a day! I took it back and even though the product was only 24hours old they refused to replace because it was open. Wtf! After 1.5hours of arguing they sent it for repair. One month later its back. A month of my warranty gone. I go home and low and behold its still broke! Again I take it back and again after an argument of over an hour they send it for repair. And guess what another month gone. I get it home and use it. I lost 2months of my warranty got no compensation, missed my last Christmas with my grandad that I really wanted to get on video. For after 1year it brakes again.I gave up! The company that make the product would only repair it if I paid and the store comet I got it from say its out of warranty. I vowed never to go back! I chucked the camera in the bin. I spent over £500.00 on a piece of crap. Funny thing while this happened to me, my autie and friend was having the same problem with tv's they brought from there. Warning stay clear!

Customer Service - What Customer Service? We paid cash for a Sony Bravia tv from Comet Solihull. After 6 months it stopped working - 6 flashes. Phoned Comet. Given number for Sony. Given number for Birmingham Specialised Service. They came out - wrapped tv in bubble wrap and took it away (no replacement offered "you should have booked" - how do you know?). Two weeks - spare part not available. More phone calls. Sony say BSS authorised to provide replacement, BSS say only Sony authorised to provide a replacement. After more complaints today and threatening to stage a sit-down Sony have authorised a replacement. However, it is the Bank Holiday weekend, it is wet - just when you need a tv - but Comet don't offer replacement sets 'for Health & Safety reasons' and say shouting won't make any difference, BSS haven't any left they can lend us. Will try Sony but don't hold out much hope. If I bought something from M&S I would not be expected to approach the original manufacturer, they would take responsibility and deal with the problem, replacing the product there and then if necessary. We, like many others, have supported Comet over the years but not any more. Sorry Comet - you don't deserve our custom.

Disgusting service Our TV broke Xmas week and we went to our local Comet and purchased a brand new 51" 3D TV - so far, so good! 4 weeks ago the TV stopped working, we called customer services to report the fault and they sent out an engineer ( 1 week later!) Said engineer came and bleeted on about how he had found out that morning that he had been made redundant (poor guy) and that the TV needed a new part and that he would order it - again, so far so ok! It seems that the engineer decided that he would take out his redudancy frustrations on us and ordered the wrong part! This we didnt know until the the second engineer called today to tell us that the part he had was not the correct one, as it needed something entirely different!!!!!! Now you may ask why I'm a little vexed (believe me if I could use stronger words, I would) but when we have waited 3 weeks for this (wrong) part and only found out it was "in stock" because I rang the customer services 3 weeks later to complain that I had heard nothing - miracle it came in the very day I rang! It seems Comet customer service only goes as far as the customer ringing a premium rate number not the Services Department ringing the customer! Despite this "oversight" the guy on the other end of the phone said, I still had to wait 4 days for the engineer. I took the day off work for his visit to discover he had the wrong part and he said that the original engineer would have known that! - Maybe telling your former employees that their services are no longer required on the day they visit already upset customers is not the best way to go about things. I was told by the rather embarrassed 2nd engineer that he would order the correct part (I only hope he's not for the chop) and that we would have to wait a minimum of another 7 days... How long does it take to sort out spare parts??? You were certainly not backward in coming forward when you sold me the item, and thank God I never took out the extended warranty as this it seems is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard. When I rang the customer services number after the engineer left I may as well have saved myself the cost of the call, as they were not interested and in fact the young girl who listened to my tale very kindly told me she was going to put me through to her Supervisor (oh what luck) but did in fact put me through to someone else without the courtesy of explaining to him my problem. Basically, she got rid of me - oh dear, a disgruntled customer, dont want her I'll pass her on to someother poor customer services "team" member. Comet if you dont want the business dont offer a service you have no intention of providing! I want to be able to come home after a long day and relax in front of my 4 month old TV not sit and look at a blank screen!! Oh and by the way, when you do decide to repair it rest assured it will be the last time I will ever shop with you again. You NEVER GET A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST GOOD IMPRESSIONS! The only reason I have given you 1 star is because I have no option!!!

NOT EVEN WORTH A RATING I purched a 51 Samsung 3d Plasma from Comet on Dec. 2. 2012. realy smart tv great picture. On the 6 march 2012 the tv started showing pink lines on the screen so i contacted comet, they said an engeiner would call back between 4 till 6. After waiting know one called so in the morning i rang Comet back, finaly i spoke to an engeiner who said it "sound's like its faulty and an engeiner would come out to have a look" but next apontmet was in 5 days so i said ok. So the enginer came out nice fella polite. He started to adust some settings, and said that should do it. I asked him should a tv not work in any settings that are on the tv, he said "plasmers are not verry good in the settings i had chosen" The enginer left. On trying the tv it was still the same so on the phone i go, they said they would send some one else out, next apointment was in 6 days. the next enginer came out, not the same one so i thought good, it might get fixed now, "it needs a new screen he replyed someone will ring you" no body rang had to contact them again, they said as soon as the parts in stock we will contact you a few day later i got a phone call saying it would be picked up, and would ony take a week so a date was aranged tv picked up as promised no problems there. A week later i rang back up as no phone call of comet and was told the part was not in stock yet and would be another week till part was in stock and it would take 4 weeks to fix. so rang back after 3 weeks just to see...."its on its way back to you as we speek" was the answer i got great stuff going to get my telly back so arraged for delevery on a morning 8 till 12 slot, had to change my shift round at work to acomadate, and go in the afternoon so i waited in 1 oclock came and it still hadent come so i rang comet once more said it was an afternoon slot not the morning bit of an argumet later, the was nothing i could do so rang work told them i couldnt come in they was not realy pleased. I had to pick the kids up from school so my mum waited in for them for me she had only just finished work. So i got home the tv had arrived brill so i put it on the stand pluged it in and buzzzz, no picture at all, so on the phone i go after being on hold for a hour i, was told an enginer would have to come out to see whats wrong...... i asked why was it not tested before it left "every thing is tank tested for three hours before being sent back" so i was sat there looking a my blank tv, i then noticed a light bit on the screen had apropper look, It seems the screens has been damaged But the glass at the front has not got a mark on it, this must have been damaged when it was getting installed so much for tank tested If i have no luck tomorow, im going to take it back to the store where i got it from, stand there telling people NEVER to shop there till i get my money back or the police remove me. so i would never recomend getting anything from comet there after sales service stinks

Awful I have been in battles now for 5 months with Comet. The after sales is the worse I have ever seen and I use hundreds of retailers in my job.I have been without a cooker for 5 months due to a part missing. It has been 5 months and they even told me to source the part myself after two months!!??? They finally sent it to local branch after 4 months and was the wrong part!!?? Still waiting and seeking legal action as had to stay in hotel for xmas. No compensation ruined my xmas. I wrote six letters over 100 emails and finaily emailed the boss Bob Darke who is a rude and arrogant person. He got somone else to reply. I have had no cooker for 5 months due to comet and couldnt stay home for xmas. I have screamed at them I have written letters, emails and they are rude and offered no compensation!!!???? Useless and nearly broke my family apart...even laughed at my misfortune!!! DO NOT USE I have heard hundreds of others with the same story and am now mounting a campaign against them
