About Digital Blasphemy

Ryan Bliss discovered his visual art talent when he received his first computer in 1995. Previously he had always wanted to be a writer and hadn’t studied visual arts in school. He has degrees in English and Computer Science from the University of Iowa. The 3D tools which were just becoming available to the public in the mid-90s opened a whole new world of creative expression for Ryan. His chosen medium has always been "desktop wallpaper". His work is designed from the ground-up to both draw the eye from across the room and stand up to close inspection. He started his web gallery, "Digital Blasphemy", in 1997 and it has been his full-time job since 1999. He currently has over 1000 images available on his site available for Members as well as a collection of free wallpapers for visitors. Ryan currently lives in Illinois with his wife Jessica and two sons Ian and Jason.

Truly great digital Artist I've had the pleasure of having Digital Blasphemy in my life for over 20 years now, and I've never had anything else on my desktop other than Ryan's art. I've watched it grown in complexity and style as technology and power has allowed, and I'm really looking forward to watching grow further. Worth every penny I've spent on it, and more!

Amazing art and artist... Been a member of Digital Blasphemy for many years now and a fan for close to 20. Excellent value for money and Ryan is completely open with how the money is spent.

Signed up as a lifetime member some… Signed up as a lifetime member some 12ish years ago. While my personal tastes have changed over that time, I still check back occasionally to see what's new. And Ryan is personally active on social media which I think is very cool of him, and also shows an interesting perspective that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Awe inspiring scenes. DB relentlessly produces new and awesome pictures that are right up my street. Awe inspiring space and landscape scenes. I like them so much I’ve got a folder full to use as a rotating theme on desktop background, which given a few minutes break I can look at, think about m, and often mentally be another place. As I say, in summary, awe inspiring scenes.

Beautiful digital artwork I've been a fan of DB since 2003 and a member for over a decade. The artwork is beautiful and with a membership you can download a resolution for practically any screen. Ryan has a great imagination and a lot of his art is a beautiful fusion of the natural world with otherworldly elements that make me feel like I've gone to another planet. I have DB on all my computers, plus my phone, and friends always comment on how cool the backgrounds are. There is some free art available, but I'd recommend the membership because it allows you access to the whole archive. My only criticism is that the website is outdated and a bit difficult to navigate, but it's easy to find the latest artwork.
