About American Massage Therapy Association

The American Massage Therapy Association is the largest non-profit, professional association serving massage therapists, massage students and massage schools. We are guided by a volunteer national Board of Directors who sets the course for the association. As a member-driven organization, we are constantly in conversation with our members through surveys, phone calls, emails and social media to understand the diverse needs of all of our members and their hopes for the profession. We advocate for the issues important to massage therapists across the country at the federal, state and local levels of government. We promote the health benefits of massage to the public, the health care community and other important groups. AMTA provides its members with the strongest benefits in the massage therapy profession and has been serving our community for over 75 years.

Best AMTA WA conference so far The venue & food were fantastic! Bummer that the pool and hot tub were closed. Signage directing people where to go for table storage, check-in etc could have been better (start at hotel lobby). The vendor hall was underutilized as usual. Also, the schedules should have been proofread so that people weren't showing up for the non-existent breakfast on Sunday that was on our schedules. That being said, it was the best AMTA WA conference I've attended. All of my classes were great, and the wellness classes on Sunday were a real treat!

I am very happy with AMTA I am very happy with AMTA. As a therapist I feel very supported with great insurance, informative classes and current information. AMTA was such a valuable resource during the pandemic. We were all scared but also wanting to get back to work safely. AMTA kept us up to date with our state regulations as well as safety protocols. They provide so much more than insurance.

Maybe it's just me Maybe it's just me, but I feel like I don't get clear information in a timely manner. I offered to volunteer at an event, but didn't get any feedback. Suddenly, there's a class that we're supposed to take that I didn't read anywhere. Im on a budget with other massage outlay commitments. I love the commitment and enthusiasm, of the people who get things done. but I don't feel a part of whats going on.

AMTA has wonderful CEU’s that we can… AMTA has wonderful CEU’s that we can take at our own pace. The in person hands on CE’s are awesome. The educators that come in are very respectful and knowledgeable. Anytime I have called to speak with a representative they have been very helpful in solving my concerns. Highly recommend AMTA

To be honest To be honest, I expect the AMTA to be lenient on LMT during Covid, yet we were still made to pay fees to the organization when most of us lost our jobs/income. I did not qualify for any additional help, nor could I collect unemployment. While I like CEU's offered (some free), I really think AMTA should have done more to help LMT's financially during Covid.
