Product delivery sent me into frenzied labor. The coffee is great. All of the Papua New Guinea coffees have an unusual flavor that I really like. However, every other company that has sent me a 50 lb delivery of green coffee has sent it in sealed 5 or 10 lb plastic bags that I can put on my shelf and store. This 50 lbs arrived in a burlap bag. There are such things as coffee weevils, and because this is nearly a year's supply of coffee for me, I worry about stuff like that. I immediately started filling every big mason jar I had on hand.

I have spoiled my friends with Coffee Barn coffees. Freshness can't be over-rated. And the brews I make with Coffee Barn's products are the freshest I can get. The info given about each coffee is excellent and informative. When first discovering Coffee Barn, I found it a bit hard to negotiate the site. Now, I just follow the retail links to where I want to be. The communications I've had with Coffee Barn personnel have always been pleasant and helpful.

Tanzy Peaberry - The real goods done right The most recent roast of OCBs Tanzania Peaberry produced an amazing result. In the past, I have noticed distinct variations in this noble coffee, not only due to sourcing issues, but most importantly from inattentive roasting; never from OCB. Their past offerings have been consistently very good to excellent. Pete and his crew nailed this one. The temperature and duration of the roast were perfectly executed, the result truly exceptional. The coffee and price are great but.... Finally found a coffee roaster in the Wisconsin area that has good prices, great coffee and cares about getting the shipping done the same day as the roasting. Unfortunately the shipper used (Spee-dee) took 6 days to get the coffee to my house. Their tracking program showed the shipment was in my town twice before it arrived at my house. I will have to find a quicker way to get my coffee to my house.
