I stumbled upon his website when looking for a good price on Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. I purchased a 5lb bag and have kept purchasing from him for all my coffee needs. He roasts frequently and ships quickly. For midwest coffee drinkers, he is a great source and the quality of the roast is quite good. He obviously cares about what he does and he does it well.

Tanzy Peaberry - The real goods done right The most recent roast of OCBs Tanzania Peaberry produced an amazing result. In the past, I have noticed distinct variations in this noble coffee, not only due to sourcing issues, but most importantly from inattentive roasting; never from OCB. Their past offerings have been consistently very good to excellent. Pete and his crew nailed this one. The temperature and duration of the roast were perfectly executed, the result truly exceptional. I love the simplicity of ordering, but the prices are not as low as when you first started. It seems to me that a few years ago when I started roasting my own green coffee beans your prices were quite a bit cheaper. This may reflect a poor memory on my part but over all I love being able to go on your website and choose what I want to roast. It is shipped quick, and I am kept in the loop at each step of the order process.

Product delivery sent me into frenzied labor. The coffee is great. All of the Papua New Guinea coffees have an unusual flavor that I really like. However, every other company that has sent me a 50 lb delivery of green coffee has sent it in sealed 5 or 10 lb plastic bags that I can put on my shelf and store. This 50 lbs arrived in a burlap bag. There are such things as coffee weevils, and because this is nearly a year's supply of coffee for me, I worry about stuff like that. I immediately started filling every big mason jar I had on hand.

Outstanding customer service and great fresh roasted beans Its all about service and quality. Pete has done an outstanding job for me on both. Pete fresh roasts 3 days a week and goes out of his way to fit late orders into the roasting schedule (Thanks Pete!); He is passionate about his coffee (check those youtube videos).
