Great setting, food and service What a lovely country pub. The food was excellent, plenty of local produce too. I had a Tolly Burger, the beef patty was delicious and the burger and bun so large I had to attempt to eat it with a knife and fork. The fruit crumble was full of local fruit with a crunchy crumble topping along with a scoop of local ice cream. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. Out the back the view across open rolling countryside was stunning, I can imagine it’s hard to get a seat in summer! Disabled access and facilities were good too. A very enjoyable afternoon with friends, would highly recommend.

Terrific! I went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday with my 8 month old daughter. The staff were incredible, they went above and beyond to help us and couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was delicious, fresh and locally sourced. The venue is beautiful, clean and well kept. The staff are immaculate, friendly and kind. What more can you ask for? Just terrific!

Great meal, good room, lovely staff Booked for a meal and stopover for a birthday, last minute. The room was very clean and comfortable, not huge but very welcoming with a few nice little extra touches and excellent value for money. Good breakfast too The evening meal was fabulous. Large steak was cooked to perfection, service was second to none. Although they were busy, we were made to feel like we were special - all the touches of a high class restaurant without the hefty price tag. Returned after a walk on the Sunday for a coffee. Unfortunately, having had a big breakfast we weren't up for a Sunday lunch, but the ones coming out looked lovely. Will definitely return and try them out. Thank you to all the staff, every one of them was polite, professional and efficient, they are a credit to you.

4.5 stars ???? Very underrated! I can't believe this excellent pub and restaurant has less than 5 stars reviews. In my several experiences of eating there for various celebrations, I'd give it 6!

Very poor staff attitude Very poor staff attitude A place we go a lot. I have left good 5 star reviews in the past. However this lunch time the duty manager had a very poor attitude. Bad enough to make me leave sooner than otherwise I would have. Politeness and curtesy costs nothing. I see they are advertising for staff, well I don’t see why anyone would want to work there if the attitude I was served is typical.
