Frankly it tastes like "Atlantic" farm raised salmon and I make no apologies for my review since I'm now left with 9lbs of bland salmon and I've been eating Alaskan Salmon weekly for 15+ years. I'd like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and assume they just aren't freezing the fish properly but who the heck really knows?

ANTICIPATION IS EXCITING !! I'm making this post before even receiving my first order. Because I can't believe the kind of folks who leave such negative posts that have nothing to do with the review of a product on a company site. From what I have experienced thus far, I'm excited to be supporting the farmers directly at the source!!! My only next question is, can you take this novice Fisher"woman" out to fish!! Ha' Just kidding, I'll keep trying to perfect my hand at walleye fishing! Looking forward to my first shipment.

I ordered the 10 lbs of Alaska Wild Salmon but found a better deal in Costco I ordered the 10 lbs of Alaska Wild Sockeye salmon. The dry ice had evaporated when I opened the foam box. The fillets were individually packed and seemed sufficiently frozen still (so, it held up during the transit even though the inside of the box didn't feel particularly cold). There were bones in the fillet, and as some have mentioned, the balance between body vs tail portions may concern some. The price point for Wild Alaska Salmon's sockeye came out to be $16.50 per pound. I regretted making this purchase soon after as my local Costo had an offer for Copper River Salmon (Sockeye) that were going at various price points, from $14.99 to $11.99. In addition, the Costco Copper River salmon was more crimson in color (Copper River salmon is much better known to have richer Omegas). Net, one may want to check out your local Costco warehouse.

I only trust this company for Wild Salmon! Having been to actual fish markets where even the sellers there are confused if their salmon is wild or farmed, I can only imagine restaurant and store owners knowing much less. Wild Alaska Salmon and Seafood is the only place I trust for fresh wild salmon that tastes great!

waaaaaaay too expensive Would like to say it's no different than the flash frozen pacific cod you can buy at Trader Joe's or really any grocery store at about an 80% discount from what you will pay with shipping. But sadly, it's not as good, in my order the pieces were NOT tightly vacuum packed and all have freezer burn ice in the vacuum packs. To add to the disappointment all the pieces are oddly (triangle) shaped making it all but impossible to cook evenly.
