However, he was able to be straightforward and understanding. It overall made me feel like I made the right and safe choice. Why didn't I do this sooner?

Follow their guidelines for filling out the application, pay the fee, set up an appt time and someone will call you to discuss your situation. I was able to speak to someone over the phone and not have to worry about going into an office.
