I had the flu with respiratory… I had the flu with respiratory infection about 6 weeks ago. Quick diagnosis and prescription by CallonDoc. I recovered quickly. I was concerned about the long waits at clinics at the time and getting exposed to another illness such as covid. I am very grateful for CallonDoc.

On 4/24/24 my 10 year old son… On 4/24/24 my 10 year old son complained of a headache & eye pain so I kept him home from school. He has bad allergies so this is not uncommon for him plus he had seemed “off” for a few days & his brother had a cold the week before so figured it was one or the other. As the day went on his eyes started getting redder & redder & I had talked to multiple moms of children in his class who had pink eye. By the next morning it was pretty obvious that he had pink eye too. I made the mistake of choosing a high deductible plan this year & it seems like my kids have been to the doctor every other week since January. I did not feel like spending another $200 to have a Dr see him in person to tell us what we already knew in order to get eye drops. But it was also one of those days where I didn’t even feel like doing a telemedicine video visit either. I work from home, so waiting to connect to a video visit, even though more convenient than an in-person visit, still interferes with my job. My kids always come first, but they have come first A LOT in the last few months so I went in search of a telemedicine provider that I could chat or text with & found callondoc. Apparently I used them in the past because I already had an account. It was super easy. I just sent some pics, provided an explanation & our info & that was it. The price was reasonable & I even saw my account had “birthday” credits so the visit didn’t even cost anything. So 3 stars for all of that. It would have been 5 stars had it not been for the hassle of getting a doctor’s excuse. After the visit I went in to get the visit notes which were hardly visit notes at all. Definitely not anything I could provide to the school for his absence. So I messaged customer service to request a dr’s note. They responded very quickly & said they could provide one but it would cost an additional $20. ???? I had never heard of such a thing so I asked them to clarify that they wanted me to pay more money for a note after I had already paid for a visit. Customer service was quick to send me the writing in the terms & conditions outlining this cost. So if you are like me & tend to skim or skip the fine print, you have to pay extra for a dr’s excuse. Initially I told them to take a hike, but when I realized there was no way my son was going to be going to school the next day & a dr’s excuse is required for 3 days absence, I knew I was stuck. So I agreed & asked if I could use the rest of my credit to pay for it, which they said I could. Now 13 messages back & forth & 5 days later, I still don’t have the excuse because the customer service team has to be one of the most inept I have ever dealt with & the policies of this company are ridiculous. So the first thing I am told is that they cannot provide an excuse for 4/24 since he was not under their care at this time. Never have I ever seen any provider with this policy. Ever. People don’t typically rush to the Dr on day one of an illness, especially if they think it’s a cold or allergies. But at this point, it’s whatever, I need the note. I have agreed to whatever nonsense they have wanted me to for 5 days now & each new message is asking me the same thing or asking me what days he was off. Each time I tell them he was off 4/24-4/26 & then we have to start over with the whole they won’t excuse for the 4/24. So tonight I have been going back & forth with them telling them he returned on 4/29 & they are telling me that they can only excuse for 3 days so do I want a return date of 4/27 or 4/28…which was THE WEEKEND. Listen, initially I thought this was an awesome & convenient way to get low cost medical care fast, but now I am second guessing the whole thing. It seems to me like it may just be a dr’s excuse mill, churning out excuses as long as you pay the fees. The whole not excusing a patient for the day before you “diagnosed” them & being so strict on your 3 day excuse limits that you can’t use common sense, just seems like red flags that they are going out of their way not to raise any red flags. Anyway, it wasn’t worth the hassle. I should have just spent the $200 & went to a real doctor. I have until Wed to turn the excuse in or I could get a fine for truancy. Even if I get the excuse I may still get one because I need all the days to be excused. & now it’s too late to see a real doctor because the pink eye is gone!

Semi-fraudulent They wouldn't pay for lab costs like they advertise they will. When I contacted them about the bills I was receiving they told me not to worry about them and that they would take care of them. After more than a month the bills kept coming. I reached out again multiple times and still have not received any response regarding a resolution. I would not recommend using this company. They are unethical and unprofessional at best. UPDATE: After filing a complaint with the BBB and rating them on TrustPilot, they finally decided I was worth talking to and they sent me a $15 refund. Hardly worth the time and effort and headache of dealing with them. A customer shouldn't have to go to those extremes to get a response from a company. I still would not recommend using their services unless you have a lot of time to waste playing their frustrating customer service games.

This is way better This is way better than wasting possibly hours or a whole day at the doctors office and getting a huge bill, Plus you don't have to go around possibly contagious people or if your contagious. I seriously don't know what anyone would complain about if you can't trust yourself or need a more hands on approach then go to an in person Doctor visit and let the rest of us live on easy street. You tell them whats wrong they give you a list of medications that would work and you get it sent to the pharmacy. It's amazing. Cheaper, faster and more choices. It doesn't completely replace an in person visit but for me most of the time I go here first.
