Good idea, Execution not great In theory, the process was a good idea; however, after I received my glasses back I couldn't wear them. The temple was so distorted, where it would hook to my ears, that it hurt whenever I wore them for more than 5 minutes. I brought them to a local optometrist to adjust but it was not the same as it was originally. I did reach out to Boomerang and they advise me the frames were stretch/adjusted to install the new lens. But to the extent that mine were just seem weird and unnecessary. The customer service was really nice, but I won't be using this service again.

Boomerang for the win! I couldn't be happier. Over the years, I have had several pairs of glasses with high quality frames but since they aren't made any more the optical shops where I got them can't re-lens them. Enter Boomerang, from a Facebook ad which I almost never pay attention to. Their connection to 1-800 contacts sold me. For my first pair I sent in a frame to be made into computer glasses along with a new prescription. I love that they can take the PD off the old lens. Bottom line-I'm typing this review at my desk and deciding on which pair of frames goes in now for everyday glasses. Communication is one thing that really makes or breaks a transaction for me, and Boomerang scores 100% on that as well as product quality.

Excellent, much needed service I had 2 pairs of sunglasses with expensive, high-end designer frames; both pairs of lenses were older prescriptions and scratched but the frames were in great shape and classic styles. I found Boomerang on the web. Service was prompt, process was easy, and the quality of my lenses is top notch. There was no "adjustment" period at all--put them on and they were perfect. I wasn't required to get a "current" prescription like most optical services want; I just uploaded my most recent one, which is in all my other glasses and is just fine.

An abject and utter FAIL My experience with boomerang was horrible, and will not be repeated. I sent him two pairs of expensive Tom Ford frames to be lensed, and it was a comedy of errors. I waited two months to get my order because it got lost in the shuffle at Boomerang; I was asked to provide my PD number four separate times; it took two months to get my order, in which the lenses were put in the wrong glasses, and one of the lenses was completely wrong due to an error on their part. I sent the frames back for the lenses to be switched and re-ground, and the quality is terrible. Also, one of the pairs of frames came back wobbly and stretched due to their van handling of it. I wasn’t charge anything by boomerang due to all of their errors.

This is a crap shoot. A while back, I placed an order with Boomerang and everything went smoothly and in a timely fashion. In June, I decided to use their services again. I sent them a pair of very expensive frames and heard nothing. Apparently, the frames were lost in the mail, and I received this response: "We hate to see it, although if for any reason these do not arrive to us or they are lost in the mail we would not be liable for the loss of your frames as shown here [in] our terms and conditions, however, we would most definitely get you fully refunded for your order and even provide you with a discount at our sister company Liingo Eyewear for some snazzy specs." One would think that even if it cost a few dollars more, this company would include in-transit insurance. Now I've lost not only one of my favorite frames but also the original lenses. "Snazzy specs", indeed.
