AUGrandfather Discovered My sister and I were really keen to try and discover who our maternal grandfather was. We knew who our maternal grandmother was, although never having known her. Our mother was fostered at birth to her great aunt, who never divulged who the father was. She died not knowing who her father was. We engaged Legacy Tree and the expert made some discoveries that put us on the right track and we just waited until more DNA matches came along. When more were eventually published, we had a direct connection to a half 1st cousin, who gave us full info of our grandfather-in-common. Thank you so much, Legacy Tree, we will be forever grateful for your expertise.

GBI tried to do research myself with what… I tried to do research myself with what info I had, but kept hitting a brick wall. I had a great life with my adoptive family and really had no desire to look for my birth family. Most of my adopted family is either deceased or out of touch. I recently lost my wife of 46 years left me with with no reason to go on. So I decided to search for my birth family as a reason to get up in the morning. Your folks found six half siblings and a first cousin still living. I emailed them all and have only gotten a response from my cousin. Even if I don't get a response from my half brothers and sisters, it was worth the journey. The folks who did the research efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. I was very lucky to have been connected to Legacy Tree and you all remain in my thoughts.

GBA very satisfactory outcome The team and my researcher (Carolyn and Sarah), communicated in a timely manner and explained their search strategies and the data as we went along. I could always ask questions and they guided me in doing some of the research myself as most of the archive searches had to be carried out in German. This saved me money and I learned a lot during the process. I got all the data I needed to make the link with information from my cousin and against the odds managed to identify my biological father. I am so relieved I know where I come from.

GBI needed a little DNA expertise I'm pretty good at research but needed the expertise of a DNA researcher for my latest project. Legacy Tree was able to determine the unknown connections in my family tree by percentage DNA matches to known relatives. The result was my great grandfather being someone other than a family member. Fascinating... they were able to identify the correct person through all of my unknown matches

GBI never had contact with researcher to… I never had contact with researcher to ask questions & maybe help guide. Told I gave too many documents. I didn't want them repeated but to help in the research. Guess that didn't work! I gave index card fold3 for Pension on New Marlborough, MA Valley Forge soldier Samuel Gibson. Surprise, surprise it led to his pension. Then the 3 areas I wanted researched weren't. Not sure why! But at the end of the report there was these 3 suggestions. I did get a pretty Genealogy 101 folder! My mistake thinking being across from the Provo FamilySearch Center would be to my advantage. I have used two other pro search teams for so much less & got results. I was even able to talk to the researcher. Didn't give their name to prevent any retaliation. I have been recommending them not you!
