About Prime Cowhides USA

Prime Cowhides origins date back to 1889, when the great grandparents of the current owners started up the business which is considered, as of today, the most renowned company in the tanning of hair on hides in Colombia. Back then, tanning was made using pools as the current processes to perform chrome tanning through wooden barrels were not available. This process, which is the norm today, ensures cowhides quality during for years. Since then, the family business has diversified, getting into cattle breeding in different farms throughout the country which allows us to provide our clients with products from different breeds for multiple purposes. As an example, we owned “Los Tres Potrillos” farm located in Armenia, Quindío, one of the main centers of the Colombian Coffee Region and the so-called "Paisa" region, where its mild weather is ideal for Normande cattle breeding, used both for meat as for leather production. Its cowhides in particular are as internationally renowned as the Colombian Coffee itself. Thank you! Very Pleased! Firstly let me say that this cowhide rug is gorgeous! I was a little nervous to order it, but I read through many reviews first and liked what was said. It is exactly the hide pictured and more beautiful in person. There are a few scars, as I expected from reading their information and reviews, but they are few, minor and don't stand out. In fact, I think that they lend an authentic vibe. I am very pleased and the shipping was pretty quick. Especially considering the hide came all the way from Colombia! I highly recommend Prime Cowhides!

This process couldn’t have gone better! This process couldn’t have gone better! Picked the hide from the photo, was exactly as pictured and super clean and well processed. It actually arrived three days before scheduled which worked out great as I could give it to my husband as an anniversary present the next day. Would highly recommend!

Decent quality, mediocre price, but know that returns aren’t easy Rug is decent but was not cheap so it should be; there’s a defect on the rug that wasn’t pictured online and I was in the process of moving when I ordered it (note: shipping took 2 weeks) so I wasn’t able to unroll the rug and really inspect it until 32 days later. They wouldn’t refund or exchange it, so don’t make the same mistake I made!

I had a fantastic experience I had a fantastic experience with them. Sadly the rug I ordered got lost in inventory, but they offered to send me another rug or a refund. Sadly I couldn’t find another rug that I liked at the moment but they refunded me very quickly. Will definitely keep an eye on the stock to find my dream rug one day soon and order it!
