GBThey don't pay their actors... I worked for Characters for Hire last year and I still haven't been paid for the events I worked. The entire team of actors I worked with have not seen a dime from this company either. I am a freelance artist, and I can say I have never worked with a more insulting and rude company. We were never paid, never fed during our 11 hour day, and never given costumes or told to bring any. This was one of the more humiliating gigs I've ever worked. If you are interested in investing your money into a company that treats their whole team well, I would not recommend this one. See below for written confirmation that they have well exceeded NYS labor laws.

GBUPDATED: I’m usually a very understanding… I’m usually a very understanding person….I worked for Characters for Hire on 2/24. After some weeks of not receiving my payment, I reached out to resolve my concern. They said it would be sent out via email on 3/15. It was not. I followed up again a few days later and have yet to hear back from them. After reading other reviews about not receiving their payment, I’m getting a little bit worried. Update: - Angela sorted things out and I received my payment!! My payment was processed the day they promised……but to the wrong address. Angela helped me receive it to my correct address. - It took a few attempts of me pestering them via email and phone to finally hear back. It wasn’t until my previous review that I received help. -I wasn’t able to receive compensation for parking fees because the machine wouldn’t print a receipt and they can only process compensation with a valid receipt. I understand the protocol, so there’s not much else that can be done with that even with other documents regarding the parking ticket. :(
