What an incredible journey!! Was totally unprepared for this experience. Everyone on my team worked diligently to get me up and running with the story I created. Beings this was my first book, I was completely clueless and they have all been guiding me through the process patiently, which was more than I ever imagined. Communication With Your Team is Key! I had a fairly good rapport with my publishing team. They did great work with the cover. They listened to my suggestions. Every now and then I'd be curious about something, and I would have to be proactive about inquiring what something means, or why something was done the way it was. I would have liked to have been kept in the loop a little better (e.g., why certain decisions were made, etc). But all in all communication was good. Also, I am an amateur at editing and formatting. It is an area I needed much help in, but I ended up having to do some of the work in recognizing whether footnotes were done correctly. I noticed that they weren't consistent the way I wrote them. So, I had to speak up about making sure we standardized them. But aside from a few areas where I felt I was on my own with respect to catching formatting mistakes, the team did a wonderful job!
