IEAvoid at all costs Avoid at all costs. Trust pilot continuously removes the HONEST negative reviews for these scam artists. I have had nothing but an awful experience with this company. Notice on their website they mention you can have a refund at any time if you’re not satisfied with the service, however, just like other people have mentioned, they do not give the refund once requested. If you find yourself in this situation and the company refuses to provide the service you ask or refund your money I strongly suggest you call your bank and order a charge back as most banks will reverse the payment within 90 days. Thanks for nothing online book writers :) you thought you scammed me but I was one step ahead and took my money back. Never try to fool a fool.

CAThis company is a total scam This company is a total scam. I got conned into paying $1,600.00 and now I can’t get in touch with them. No one answers calls, I’ve left text messages, phone messages and I even sent them an email. It seems as if they are totally avoiding me. I have no recourse now but potential clients just be warned!

GBOnline Book Writers is a Nightmare Online Book Writers has been a nightmare. I have read most of the online reviews and find them disconnected from reality and strangely (and coincidentally) nearly identical to one another. I’m not surprised that Trust Pilot has flagged OBW reviews with the following message: “We’ve detected a number of fake reviews for this company and we’ve removed them.” I began with Online Book Writers (OBW) in November 2020. I was hesitant to use their service because I had concerns about how long the project would take to complete. However, I was assured by Bruno R. that they could meet my 6 to 8 month expectation. That was 21 months ago… and counting. I have spent $10,750 with this company and find it difficult to give them even one star. The initial quote was $2000 for their services; however, they didn’t inform me of all the aspects of book development, marketing, and publishing they would later insist were important for success. Nearly every month, there was an upsell: I needed illustrations; I needed a better book trailer video (which has now been in production for over 7 months and still isn’t completed); ISBNs; LCCN; Copywriting; social media followers, etc., etc. There isn’t an end to what they say you need. NOTE: You do get more attention from managers when you agree to an upsell. (They get commissions). One manager was noticeably upset over the phone when he heard I had gotten the Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) myself. It was free. He had quoted me $1500. Over the course of the past 21 months, the first writer quit the OBW company at the 5-month mark into my project (she explained it was because of unreasonable OBW expectations for assembly line production). Only about 30% of the book had been roughed out. They assigned a second writer who resumed writing the book with little thematic correlation to what had already been written. The progress was incremental. It was painful. In the end, the direction was so bad as we approached the one-year mark that I took back over the writing myself and completed the book. As it stands now, I have actually written most of the novel myself. Editing was equally painful. Each time OBW edited, they produced mistakes: extra lines, extra spaces, strange characters, line breaks, misspelled words, etc. I had to re-edit many times. (NOTE: I had a complete manuscript when I came to OBW. However, I decided I needed professional help with story development and marketing. OBW was never interested in my manuscript, as this doesn’t fit neatly into their mass production constructs. The writers were not interested. Bruno R. wasn’t interested. The four managers on the project were not interested. The OBW machine must keep moving. No one has the time.) Dysfunction abounds with OBW and disappointments are never-ending. Writers quit and get changed out. Managers turn over your file to the next, and the next, and so on. And, when this occurs, the next person isn’t at all familiar with your project and can’t find the information you’ve previously sent. They are confused (and who wouldn’t be with a hundred or so clients). Errors are very frequent and progress can move backward. I wish there was a rating of less than 1 Star. As of this writing, it is August 2022. November 2020 was ages ago. All I have from OBW is a profound disappointment. If I could rewind the past 21 months, I would NOT have chosen OBW. As it stands now, I am out $10,750 and there are no book sales. This is mostly because the marketing elements are still outstanding and no one will get back to me. I paid for the $3000 Book Trailer Video 7 months ago. I’m still waiting and no one will get back to me. The $1000 Social Media Contacts were paid for 5 months ago. I’m still waiting and no one will get back to me. (The few that were delivered were mostly from Vietnam.) “Beta reader review”? It was never done. “Final Review” with the senior editor? Never happened. “Query Letter” sent to editors, agents and publishing houses?” Still waiting. Publishing Strategy Discussion with Marketing Specialist?” Never happened. “Google Business Review?” The manager wouldn’t do it without the upsell/commission. “1000 Media Contacts?” Never happened. Weekly and Monthly traffic reports? Only happened once. My website? I have been asking about the name of hosting company and credentials (for access) for 17 months. They can’t produce it. Whenever I call, I hear the mantra “the work continues”. I have heard that mantra over and over… even when nothing is happening. Do not use Online Book Writers. I will be 2 years into this nightmare soon and can’t wait for it to be over.

GBThey Are Liars & Scammers - Stay Away! I hired this company to promote my book in July of 2021. It is now November of 2021 and they haven't done anything! I paid $1,500 down and gave them an additional $1,000 after that for them to hire an influencer to promote my book on social media. That's a total of $2,500. I dealt with Morris Samuel and Mike King. I have their phone numbers. Lately they haven't responded to my texts. Now that I think about it that may not even be their real names. I have my receipts to prove these transactions took place but they have produced zero results. They periodically sent me things to approve but they haven't delivered on anything that they promised. I used a part of my savings, money I didn't have to waste, to hire them and they scammed me. I've experienced COVID twice, death of loved ones, and loss during the pandemic and on top of that I've been swindled by this company. It hurts! I encourage everyone to stay way from this company. They are a bunch of crooks!!! UPDATE 11/10/21 Online Book Writers has contacted me and they are working to resolve the situation. I appreciate the nice person they have placed over my project to correct the past issues. As soon as everything is addressed I will update my review. UPDATE 12/7/21 12:54 PM EST My latest update is that I haven't heard from Online Book Writers in about 2 weeks. A young lady named Sophie was assigned to my case. She started out well. I even talked to her boss. He assured me they would fix this. He also asked me to remove my review but I refused to until the work was completed. At this point I want my $2,500 back. These people are highly unprofessional and frauds. If you want your book promoted please stay way from this company! UPDATE 1/31/22 2:46 PM EST I've been contacted over the last 2 months by at least 4 different people claiming to be a project manager over my case. Eventually they all disappear after making promises. The latest was named Jake Roberts. He claimed like all the rest that he would handle everything and provide me with what I paid for. This experience came up short as well. 1) It took days to make little corrections to the website they were building. 2) He had the audacity to ask me about paying the final balance. I remind everyone that I paid these people $2,500 in July of 2021 for a 4 month project. As of 1/31/22 they have not activated or promoted my book at all. I told him what I told the other reps that I wasn't paying them another dime. He then sarcastically said "We don't work for free" and that's when I lost it. After paying them $2,500 several months ago for a scope of work that they are seriously in breach of a contract for, he had the nerve to insult me. I hung up the phone. His so-called manager called and texted. I refused to answer. I believe is objective was to handle me like the previous managers. I refuse to be insulted any longer. 3) They have heavy accents and I'm not sure they are even really located in this country. 4) I contacted the Better Business Bureau in the area of California where their business address is listed. The BBB launched an investigation and recently replied to me with this letter that I copied and pasted: Dear Anthony Green: This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 12/21/2021 against Online Book Writers. Your complaint was assigned ID 16386534. We regret to inform you that due to the company’s failure to respond, we have closed your complaint. BBB attempts to conciliate concerns through an informal and voluntary process. Although we request cooperation from a company, we cannot require a company to respond or offer a specific adjustment. Your complaint though will be a part of the business’s BBB review and rating for the next three years. Should the company reconsider your concern we will be certain to notify you. Did you know? You can search for businesses you who meet and agree to uphold our Standards of Trust by visiting our accredited business directory at necal.bbb.org. Our reviews include background information on the business, some have customer reviews, pictures, and other helpful information so that you can make an informed decision. Sincerely, BBB serving Northeast California Apparently the ownership of this company doesn't really care about the customers. Not one owner has contacted me to resolve this. I simply want my money back so that I can move on.

NODO NOT USE THIS COMPANY DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I signed a contract with Online Book Writers 13 months ago. They promised many deliverables, including 700% return on investment within 3 months. After 13 months, I have yet to see any sales resulting from my contract with Online Book Writers. I did NOT get a functioning website. I paid for an audiobook and received back only 11 of the 22 chapters. I chose an audio book artist but the book was recorded by another who butchered the book. This is unfortunately a mute point since the book was never finished, so it is completely unusable. I paid for social media marketing and posting to Instagram but they didn't deem it necessary to actually read the book, so I had to develop all the content for them to post. In the contract it stated radio and print media promotion - NOTHING was done. Since they didn't read the book, I was tasked with writing my own book promotion article and had to give up as I am not trained in marketing. They don't answer messages for weeks at a time. The project manager I originally had quit and took his entire team with him, so I thought in all fairness to give the company another chance. But the second project manager also didn't deliver on the terms of the contract. I decided to cut my losses and asked them to put whatever remaining money was in my account into Instagram. And then the project manager went completely silent. I haven't heard from them in weeks despite my efforts. I was completely and totally scammed by this company. For 5,000 USD I received a logo and a promo video.
