GBHow to Grow and expand eBid since I mainly deal with stamps and a few coins, it would be nice to see eBid take out an advertisement in both Linn's Stamp News as well and Coin World, and Maybe place an ad with American Philatelic Society in their monthly journal. I recently did a mass mailing to all my past buyer from THAT OTHER rip off auction site, and the response has been very good. So now I have begun tailoring to their previous purchases. It so far seems to be working.

GBnew seller - already saving on fees Just started selling on eBid and once you get used to the layout/interface, it's super easy. I thought it would take a little more time for things to sell than on ebay because of the smaller traffic but I'm already selling well and saving on ebays extortionate selling fees ! I went for the platinum membership for lifetime free or low fees and I'm already saving money compared to if I'd sold on ebay. Not only that, having the ability to have an item auction start on first bid is gold ! Great stuff so far

GBWhat a dirty trick to rid themselves of lifetime subs I've been with them for the best part of their existence I was an early subscriber lifetime sub, and it seems they are trying bad practices in removing lifetime subs by using ways such as asking you to confirm your identity with a photo pass, That's ok in itself, but it's the way they are doing it that worries me, they sent me 6 emails and complained about Q&A had a URL in it. The next thing I knew, another 6 emails saying it was against their policies, I understand that, and it was just 1 time and a mistake, why send me 6 threatening emails? Then I get an email saying they are doing random security checks and oh ya it just so happens to be me and never had this in 8 years or however long it is, anyway my account is suspended until I send them my photo ID. What a dirty trick to rid themselves of lifetime subs. I will give them my ID, but that's dirty by any stretch of the imagination.

GBI've been using eBid for since 2010 and… I've been using eBid for since 2010 and I can honestly say that I have had nothing but good experiences with it. It is far cheaper than eBay to list items, the final value fees are cheaper and the customer service staff are faster to respond and are far more helpful in general. The downside is that eBid is not as popular as eBay with less users but this should change over time. Also, eBid does not have the flexible, multi-variant listing tools that eBid has. Overall however, I would recommend eBid. In general, I think it is pretty good and I have sold many items through it.

GBWrong item delivered, no resolution Ordered item and was shipped the wrong item. Contacted seller who initally responded and then lost interest and has not rectified the sale after four attempts to contact. Contacted ebid who responded to say "We are not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers." Take care, you clearly have no rights, limited redress and ebid themselves disassociate themselves from their business. Edit - in response to ebid's reply... Yes you did ship me something, but the trick is that should be what I ordered, not some other random box. The reply nicely illustrates the point I'm trying to make in this review.
