USBe Prepared for Shenanigans and Charges I was charged for "not providing proof of liability coverage" for 3 months on my new rental property. I gained other coverage and provided it at the start of my lease. When I wrote and asked if they had received it, if it met the requirements, and if they had informed the property management company of this, they responded twice, the two emails being sent four minutes apart from the same email address, stating that the proof had been declined due to the additional interest section of the policy being wrong. Each listed a different way to list this, so they weren't even in agreement from the same department at this company! I responded with copies of their two disagreeing emails, the initial "you need renters liability insurance" email from my property management company, and the section of my signed lease that shows the how the property management company wants it entered, and that method is exactly how it appears in our insurance's Additional Insured section. I sent this all along to them a few minutes ago, CC'd my leasing agent, and telling him that I would be speaking with him soon. This whole scenario seems like a money grab. Oh, did I mention that they never mentioned UP FRONT that they thought there was a problem with the insurance policy? Nope. Not a word. I had to get fed up and send them a very succinctly worded email asking what the problem was. Now I have to send them their conflicting answers and show that their answers do not match the instructions in my lease from our property management company? This is RIDICULOUS!!! But since I love showing companies how ridiculous they are, I'm all in on this fight.

USNo support when actually needed Someone shot at our home from the outside and ran away. Nobody was hurt but a television was damaged. This insurance company did not cover our damages and said since it’s vandalism it’s up to us to replace our damaged belongings.

UScompany is no longer in business Pretty sure the company is no longer in business. You can't get insurance on their website and their phone number no longer works.

USShady Business Practices Interesting that it says this page was claimed by Effective Coverage in January 2017 and the first two reviews were on January 3, 2017. I believe this company is using the classic tactic of leaving their own disingenuous reviews to increase their rating. If actual customers were doing the reviewing, the rating would be much lower. Now on to my story. Never in my life have I been so fed up with a company. Effective Coverage had been routinely billing us for not having renter's insurance despite my policy with American Family being active since June. They agreed to refund each month when I first called, but only credited me $15 for a single month's worth of fees. When I called back they not only said they can't refund anything else, but they made me send proof of insurance AGAIN or else they would continue charging me the fee. This makes three times now that I have sent them proof since June. These people only care about nickel and diming you - and purposefully make things difficult so they can continue to do so. They must be cheap for landlords to work with because I don't know why else anyone would use this garbage company.
