GBASPIRE IS A SCAM! ASPIRE IS A SCAM!! After having this card for over a year they out of nowhere started charging me extra $5 month for what they call “MAINTENANCE FEE” They said I signed a agreement in my application that I agree with their terms and conditions. I now have to pay high interest, I also have to pay additional $5. If I close my account my credit score goes down.

GBNew Maintenance Fees! Having had the TBOM Aspire card for two years with no issues, I received an email concerning an important Notice of Change to my account. I admit that I often fail to read these but this time I did. Now my "no cost / no fees" account will be assessed a monthly maintenance fee of $5 per month (albeit small, it is still a $60 a year fee). This card has my lowest credit limit of over ten cards (many over $15,000) so I do not need it; however, dropping a card with a two-year history will indeed affect my credit score for an unknown period. When I immediately called, expecting to be transferred to a retention specialist, I was simply told that by not accepting their updated terms, my card would be cancelled immediately. So much for valuing their "good" customers (my current score is well over 750 with all of the three bureaus). Please consider twice before accepting the Aspire card's new terms...
