AMS has great customer service and products!!! AMS has great customer service, their products are built well and function as advertised. Re-ordering parts can be tricky, it is best to use their catalog and not their website if you are looking for a very specific part like a tile extension or an adapter for example. That, all in all, is a minor complaint, I still give them a five next to their competition. They also have invented gadgets to make your work efficient and easier!

You flood me with email offers You flood me with email offers. Then I need something and whatever the offer was it has expired... Some of your auger handles are on sale, but out of stock. Let me guess, the sale ends when then come back in stock. You got me frustrated. 11/29 Update: Okay, so I'm feeling much better now! My original 3-star review got some attention and I received a phone call with advance notice of the Black Friday sale. Pretty good sale and I picked up some more stuff. Thank you AMS. My original frustrations were partly due to me not being familiar with the AMS website. There is a lot of stuff there and things can be hard to find unless you know what you're looking for. I have used the AMS hand augers for decades and will continue to do so. I'm pretty happy with how well they work, there durability and build quality.

First Rate Tools for Soil Scientists I have used AMS soil sampling equipment for over 20 years in various capacities. My AMS probes (I prefer 2" or 3" Dutch augers on a 5 ft carbon steel extension, driven by a ratcheting crossbar) have always delivered, especially in dry and/or stony soils where simple push probes fail to even penetrate. The 5 ft extension allows me to sample the full root zone of most crops and lets me quickly explore multiple soil profiles without the need to dig pits. Lastly, I have never had a probe break on me.
