About AMS, Inc.

AMS manufactures soil augers, soil probes, soil core samplers, sludge and sediment samplers, soil gas samplers, and more! And since 1994, we have been manufacturing AMS PowerProbe direct push drill rigs. Our PowerProbes can be mounted on pickup trucks, trailers, UTVs, skid loaders, tractors, and tracks. They have gained widespread acceptance due to their versatility, relatively low cost, and ease of mobility. PowerProbes are designed to be used for soil, soil gas, and groundwater testing, monitoring, and sampling; installing monitoring wells; geophysical and geotechnical assessments; and remediation investigations and implementations. In addition, most PowerProbe models can be fitted with hollow stem augering capabilities.

Was able to find the sampling equipment… Was able to find the sampling equipment that I wanted as well as see others that I'm putting on my wish list. ;-) I haven't received the equipment yet, so I can't comment on quality. Will do so after I receive it. 10/19/23 Received our soil profile probes and am inpressed with the quality of them. Looking forward to utilizing to help our grower produce sod with a better root system for better establishment upon transplant. These probes will help to show them things can be done better.

I've been a customer of AMS for many… I've been a customer of AMS for many years. When I purchased the telescoping auger I wasn't real sure if I would like it. Turns out I love it and use it on 90% of my field work. So many sites that it needed new bits. So I ordered a new bucket while the original one is being sent back for refurbishing. This is a great company.

First Rate Tools for Soil Scientists I have used AMS soil sampling equipment for over 20 years in various capacities. My AMS probes (I prefer 2" or 3" Dutch augers on a 5 ft carbon steel extension, driven by a ratcheting crossbar) have always delivered, especially in dry and/or stony soils where simple push probes fail to even penetrate. The 5 ft extension allows me to sample the full root zone of most crops and lets me quickly explore multiple soil profiles without the need to dig pits. Lastly, I have never had a probe break on me.

International shipping is too expensive We have purchased tens of thousands of dollars of AMS tooling. Great stuff, always ships quickly but, shipping is so expensive. Also would like to see the ratchet handle cog as a part.
