0 STARS!! Scam for sellers. 0 STARS!!! NO SELLER PROTECTIIN!!!! I have been selling my estate online after selling my house and moving my lifelong treasures into storage and then Into a local shop since Dec 2020. In 4.5 years I have had 4 buyers say items broke, 3 showing no photi proof of actual item. Items totaled a bit over 600$. I was not once reimbursed even showing photos my shipping methods were consistent with "MERCARI'S POLICY." BUYER'S RETURN IS HONORED REGARDLESS OF REASON. I am reviewing now due to my 300$ ring sale being returned due to buyer's "Need to prioritize expenses." THERE IS NO POLICY HONORED OR SAFETY FOR SELLERS. We spend hours photographing, packaging, polishing, etc and loose or sake and often the entire worth of our item if the buyer claims it is broken as law states one cannot mail (return) broken items. LOOK DEEPER THAN TGE 0 SELLING FEES. I BELIEVE MERCARI IS PURCHASING OUR VALUABLE ITEMS AND STEALING THEM. 0 SELLING FEE, COME ON MERCARI!!!!!! BEWARE Mercari does NOT support… BEWARE Mercari does NOT support sellers. If a buyer lies and says you sent them a rock instead of a gold necklace, Mercari will side with the buyer and the seller will be at a loss. No matter what the seller does, not matter what evidence the seller has, they do not care about the sellers… because they make money off the buyers. Also, their buyer fees are super high. Mercari does not care… I repeat, they do not care about sellers at all!!! Save yourself a headache, your money, and your product and go to Poshmark instead, they are fair and treat buyers and sellers with respect and dignity.

The online pawn shop with service and processing fees!!!!! Mercari use to be the best place to buy and save some money. This processing fees and service fees defeat the purpose of buying a used cheaper item. Today I wanted to buy an item that was $300 dollars because brand new in Amazon was $400 dollars, anyhow upon check out my total balance was $375 dollars. At this price I'm not saving anything might as well buy it new with warranty for almost the same price. I don't know who in their administration thought it was a good idea to shove all these fees to the buyer face when it use to be a thing for every seller a "service fee". which made sense. I'm glad there's other shopping platforms online for example ebay, offer up, poshmark, Amazon etc..., because Mercari is a thing from the past, and they did it all to themselves. It was fun while it lasted.

I have made 5 transactions in the past 2 weeks I have made 5 transactions in the last 2 weeks on Mercari. All went smoothly until the last one, when a subwoofer arrived that wasn't packed to well and was damaged. I contacted Mercari and customer service was awesome. Yes, there is payment processing fees and service fees, but I still paid less on Mercari than I would have on eBay. One of my purchases was a fairly new Denon Networking 7.1 receiver was $75 plus $40 shipping. The thing is absolutely amazing and weighs 30 lbs On eBay it was $175 plus $50 shipping! I'll pass

False Advertising I purchased a necklace listed as an authentic Tiffany and Co. brand. In January of this year. It is now April and the silver on the necklace is tarnished. Because their policy is 15 days you have to make a complaint they can’t do anything about it at all. Not even investigate and message the seller about false advertising. A real Tiffany necklace will probably not tarnish at 15 days but did at 4 months. Ridiculous. I do not trust Mercari anymore as it appears there is no way for them to regulate the sellers items and advertising
