Mercari's New Policy Sucks :)! I've had Mercari for a few months now. Purchased and sold. I'm quite honestly always on the app, looking for certain things to buy. I have only purchased one thing since the new policy because they are actually stealing from the users. Item was $50 and ended up paying $67. Shipping was only $3.99 of that cost. Outrageous fees are the norm that just randomly change. It's absolutely horrendous and a scummy platform. Use eBay or literally anything else at this point. It's not worth it until something changes.

All of the sudden I could not send a… All of the sudden I could not send a message or offer to a seller on an item I wanted. I didn't really care for that as I had not done anything wrong or inappropriate. I had made a comment on the boots that they needed new soles, even though the seller listed as in good condition. After a month + that comment was not approved. Today, when trying to make an offer I was informed I could not contact the seller or make comments. So I deleted my account in response. Mercari provided me with a duplicate label… I am a seller on Mercari and I shipped out a package with the label Mercari provided. Dropped off the package off to the post office Monday April 29, 2024. Waited 24 hours for the package to start tracking and it never did. I write out a personalized letters to everyone so I remembered the name of the person I sent the item to. Upon looking at the actual shipping label I discovered Mercari SENT ME A DUPLICATE LABEL from a previous order. I reached out to Mercari to ask for help and of course they couldn’t own up to their mistakes and said there was nothing they could do. I spent a majority of my morning calling the post office in a different state trying to intercept this package. I almost got scammed out of 36.00$ thanks to Mercari. Good job protecting me as a seller. 10/10 do not recommend using this platform to buy or sell

BEWARE Mercari does NOT support… BEWARE Mercari does NOT support sellers. If a buyer lies and says you sent them a rock instead of a gold necklace, Mercari will side with the buyer and the seller will be at a loss. No matter what the seller does, not matter what evidence the seller has, they do not care about the sellers… because they make money off the buyers. Also, their buyer fees are super high. Mercari does not care… I repeat, they do not care about sellers at all!!! Save yourself a headache, your money, and your product and go to Poshmark instead, they are fair and treat buyers and sellers with respect and dignity.

Be very careful with the Mercari… Be very careful with the Mercari platform itself when buying or selling. The company’s A.I. Bot scans ads and transactions for activity that could be ‘construed’ as a violation thus prohibited conduct. The system will then simply shut-down your account and attempt to freeze your funds. - Escalating the situation to a human/customer service has no bearing or influence at all. - It almost seems like this is one of Mercari’s revenue streams is to shut-down account and keep your funds. I highly recommend using other well known and trustworthy platforms instead.
