Professional opinion I own a surfboard repair business and I strongly advise against buying their product. They are glassed ultra thin and then sealed with plastic! They dent like crazy and literally ding at the drop of a hat. I absolutely refuse to accept their surfboards for repairs. Mass produced in Thailand, repairing them is a nightmare.

Flawed. I was happy to see it shipped safely, and promptly. However...One of the fin boxes does not let the fin sit flush, and it sticks up about 1/8''. This same fin box also has a screw that pushes the fin backwards rather than down, forcing a gap in the front of the base where it inserts into the fin box when tightened. This also surely displaces pressure in ways not meant by the construction. 3 of the 5 fin screws also stripped, one now sticks out. I used the appropriate future fin tools and the screws practically turned to jello. I discovered all of this once already on a trip, deck pad already stuck on the board, preparing for a paddle out...very frustrating moment.

Disappointing I surfed the modern love child for the first time last week. The board surfed great and a caught about a dozen waves. When I came back in I noticed the board had compression in the top deck. I know this tends to happen to all boards as the age...but on the first surf! The day was mid sized mushy waves. I had no collisions or bad wipe outs. The compression is from popping up to my feet?! I'm guessing it is a manufacturing defect. I contacted the place where i bought the board and the company claims this is a wear and tear issue. I followed up with the couple board repair shops on the coast they say this type of problem all the time with Global Surf Industry boards. They figure it is inexperienced workers over sanding the epoxy coat as they mass produce boards. Anyway...its all pretty disappointing. Lesson learned. I won't be buying from GSI again!

Great Board and Customer Service: 7S SuperFish II X2 & Tony B! Super stoked with my purchase of the 7S SuperFish II X2 for two reasons: 1) The web site narrowed my choice accurately to my skill level and physicality. 2) Tony Butler has a wealth of info because he's the real deal! He provided me further guidance and advice before my purchase and followed up with me on post sales questions as well. I'll buy from Global Surf again for sure!
