Play Netball Southampton I play in both the Tuesday and Thursday Southampton leagues and manage a team. The league is well organized with a good level of communication (via email and FB pages), and match scores/fixtures are updated promptly on the website. It's a social league with a good balance of competitiveness whilst remaining fun and friendly. I've been in some truly awful netball leagues but our team was more than happy to pay extra to play in the Play Netball league.

I joined a team of fabulous like minded ladies, all who had never met before, we gelled straightaway and are great friends. Whatever fitness level, age, ability, play netball is for all - it’s a fun way to get a bit fitter, challenge yourself, socialise and meet other inspirational women!

Week after week our matches have been cancelled as close as an hour before we were due to play, put down to reasons such as ‘lack of umpires’. On more than one occasion we’ve shown up ready to play, and been locked out of the hall, or found the court unsuitable to play and had to leave, with no communication from Play Netball. Dozens of members of the league have emailed complaining time and time again, and get given the same weak excuses from the ‘organizers’. I would absolutely avoid Play Netball like the plague, it’s a complete shambles

Absolutely awful umpiring and when I… Absolutely awful umpiring and when I simple asked to explain what my penalty was for I got told that I was being rude and arguing with a 'professional umpire'. I completely understand that you should not argue with the umpire and that is is a really tough job. Especially trying to see everything but it made me really dislike netball and I had to £6 for a game ! I now play on a Monday and Wednesday elsewhere and absolutely love it ! Thank you very much. Do not pay them any money Bunch of cowboys. Absolute rip-off leagues, try to tie you in, make it impossible to leave and make threats when you won't pay. The leagues themselves are poorly organised, there's little regard for player safety and a lack of duty of care by most umpires. Do not waste your money. You're better off finding a nice locally-organised league.
