GBPlay Netball Southampton I play in both the Tuesday and Thursday Southampton leagues and manage a team. The league is well organized with a good level of communication (via email and FB pages), and match scores/fixtures are updated promptly on the website. It's a social league with a good balance of competitiveness whilst remaining fun and friendly. I've been in some truly awful netball leagues but our team was more than happy to pay extra to play in the Play Netball league.

GBIf I could give a 0 star rating I… If I could give a 0 star rating I would. Games cancelled last minute, venues not booked. At one point they held our money hostage for 4 weeks while they tried to source another venue for the final 2 games. Pay for 2 umpires per game and we're lucky if we get 1 or the game is cancelled last minute. No co-ordinator, costs are extortionate of £90 upfront fees per player for 14 games. We have to give them 1 weeks notice if we want to leave the league yet they can give us notice that games are cancelled at 6.31pm when the games start at 6.30. Shocking! Save your money ladies and find a pay as you play league.

GBDon't delay, change your life today! My overall experience of play netball has been amazing. 2 yrs ago I came across a Facebook post and I contacted play netball and got myself into a team. I now play regularly every week and am in 2 leagues in my area. I've met some amazing players, grown in confidence in my own abilities and become healthier in mind and body. Above all its been fun, and socially met some awsome seeladies I'm privileged to call friends. Would recommend to anyone as a platform from for getting back into netball.

GBWorst social league Worst social league This league is entirely focused on taking money and not on playing. The central team are slow to respond, assign teams, get the right level for players or teams. There is also the intimidation about signing up for leagues and potential debt that I’ve never experienced anywhere else! Local managers & umpires are for the most part very poor. Run through Facebook, they resort to posts about teams or players when they’re not happy. There is no involvement in helping to organise fill ins, which could make sure people always got a game. It really feels like they couldn’t care less as long as they get your money. I’m sure the only reason people join is because it’s local. I’d recommend alternative leagues if available.

GBAbsolutely awful umpiring and when I… Absolutely awful umpiring and when I simple asked to explain what my penalty was for I got told that I was being rude and arguing with a 'professional umpire'. I completely understand that you should not argue with the umpire and that is is a really tough job. Especially trying to see everything but it made me really dislike netball and I had to £6 for a game ! I now play on a Monday and Wednesday elsewhere and absolutely love it ! Thank you very much.
