GBSo slow to ship they use Fedex and USPS… So slow to ship they use Fedex and USPS which are both horribly slow. Ive been a long time member and lately prefer ordering straight from the manufacturer. I find their selection of non REI brand is lacking. They don’t carry the good stuff. Especially hiking boots. I prefer Moose Jaw which has a better perks program and runs promotions more often.

GBShameful business model. Refuse to exchange defective products Off-season I bought my wife a REI brand "organic clothing elwy bib snow pants" online for her birthday in April. This winter on our first ski trip we realized that it was defective (the zipper was put on wrong). We took it to the hingham MA store and they agreed it was made wrong and could not be fixed but refused to exchange because we didn't pay to be members and it was more than three months after purchasing. Of course its more than three months, it was summer time and these ski pants for the winter! This is the most shameful business model: "We don't stand by our products because they suck, therefore you should pay us more and buy a membership for the honor of returning the defective trash products we sell you". I will never shop here again!

GBAbsolutely terrible customer service Absolutely terrible customer service! I went into the store and found the water shoes I wanted but they did not have my size. Buy the membership, then order online. I did. REI said my shoes would be here in 3 days, they shipped my shoes and they were due in 3 days 6 days later no clue where they are and the shipping company says they never got the package. REI is like oh I can get another pair out and they will be there next week. Next week I am on my cruise that does not help me. Shop somewhere more reputable.

GBDONT by a snowboard from REI Bought a brand new Jones board from REI that blew out its side wall on the 4th ride without any significant impact. REI is an authorized dealer for jones but refused to get me in touch with them even though that is the only way to address what I felt was a defective board. Most frustrating experience of my life!

GBSacramento CA REI sucks Yea, this company has lost touch with their costomer service. Very disappointing with their products and employees. I bought a 150 dollar pair of shoes that blew out in 3 weeks. They refused to help in any way. Would not even help me get in touch with the manufacturer. I did the REI email servay they sent next day. I told them about my negative experience. It said a representative would contact me with in 48 hours. They never did. To bad for them my family has had a membershit for close to 30 years. Just for clarity. This is the only time I've tried to return something from them.
