Ravel Hotel - New York The Ravel Hotel is in a good location overlooking Manhattan on the East River with fantastic views, the staff were helpful and friendly. There is a shuttle bus to the nearest subway station and it only takes about 10 minutes to Times Square, Central Park etc. so for all the attractions it ideally located. The hotel is generally clean and comfortable, the decor is not to everyone's taste but we thought it good and different. Okay the actual area where the hotel is cited is not particularly pretty but we thought it safe enough to walk at night in the area and from the subway etc. It could do with a little updating\makeover and general improvements but maybe this will happen once the new wing is open. Not too bad overall.

Very welcoming staff and great service The hotel is in a bad area, but thanks to the shuttle service which the hotel provides it definitely does make the travel very comfortable and safe. The staff is great, they are very welcoming and accommodating. I will definitely be going back with friends.

One of the best views of the city and one of the best ambiances Ravel is definitely a great place to stay if you're visiting NYC or if you want hang out in a trendy hotel for a couple nights. The rooftop has one of the best views of NYC hand down and the have a great ambiance and plenty of space so you don't bump into people every time you move like in other rooftops. The music is good and the food is good. What else could you ask for. The manager at the front desk is very helpful and knows his stuff.

USA 2014 What a welcome surprise the Ravel Hotel was. After reading so many negative reviews of the hotel I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived. Yes the furniture was mismatched and had some marks on it. So what! We were here for a holiday not to sit in the room. Our room looked out over Manhattan and which was magnificent. Housekeeping looked after our room very well for the 7 days we were there. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner or breakfast but did hear music on the Saturday night but was not really worried about it. As for the area, we were not at all worried about walking back from the subway at night. There was a shuttle bus but we did not use it. We walked to and from the subway in about 10-15 minutes. Thank you Ravel Hotel for making our New York stay fantastic.
