GBLies about services provided and charges astronomical rates for only small amounts of non-technical work! I'd give zero stars if I could. This company preys on people's sense of urgency. My husband and I flip homes, but did not have time to deal with a clog in our tenants kitchen sink line, so we called Mr. Rooter to deal with it. A van arrived with “D. Rhodes” logo on it (they must just sub out the jobs). The technician charged us an exorbitant amount of money (just shy of $1000) for less than one-hour worth of non-technical work (to snake the sink and replace its PVC P trap, which I believe he destroyed during the process) with minimal expertise for a simple job. I gave him my American Express card and he forced me to sign his tablet saying it was confirmation that they came out. About a week later we received an email with the bill of which the explanation of service was much exaggerated with several false statements. We contacted the Mr. Rooter office manager “Jennifer” to explain the situation and asked for the bill to be significantly reduced because of such. She said that she would have to speak with her upper management to get approval of such discount and that the technician would give us a call to discuss the fallacies on the bill of service, but both never got back to us after a plethora of calls back to her about the issue. We ended up disputing part of the charge with our American Express Corporate Account who told us that they credited us $100 but would not give us anything additional back because I signed the technician’s tablet, which was apparently agreeing to the exorbitant cost for the repair. Both this company and American Express dropped the ball on this one! Needless to say we will never use this company again and we canceled our American Express accounts as they do not back cardholders as they state they do. Avoid this company and American Express at all costs unless you want to be ripped off.

GBThe one star was for the gentleman who… The one star was for the gentleman who came. Out. This company is a scam. Called for an issue after hrs and never did the CSR tell me company does free estimates during business hours. Now their trying to charge my card without consent for over $300 without even putting a shovel in the grond. If I would have known they did FREE estimates I would have just waited till the morning. COMMON SENSE..... I let the gentleman know before he left because he tried to have me sign the waiver to pay. I said absolutely not and they still tried to get payment from my card..... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

GBResponsive and professional We had an obstructed drain line in the kitchen which turned out to be external to the house. We were unable to use the sink, escalating the need for timely service. We called around and a plumber from Mr. Rooter was immediately available. He showed up and quickly identified the obstruction with a camera. He explained our options and had the problem solved with a one year warranty to his work. I would use Mr. Rooter again in a similar emergency. The only issue stopping me from giving this provider 5 stars was the price. They seemed a bit high, but paying a little more in this circumstance was a trivial consideration.

GBMuch too expensive Charging $325 to clean a drain that was unclogged in the interim is outrageous. This happened to me on April 29, 2023 in Montgomery, TX. Also, the scheduled appointment has been rescheduled several times. I will certainly never hire Mr. Rooter to do a job again. I would rather wait days for a decent plumber.
