About ParkWhiz

Book Ahead: After you’ve selected a parking facility in the ParkWhiz mobile app or on parkwhiz.com, book a space and prepay for the time you need. You’ll receive a parking pass with instructions to help you park easily. Park Then Pay: For more flexibility, use the ParkWhiz app to pay at select parking facilities without booking ahead. Start a session in the app once you’ve parked, stay as long as you need, and control payment from your phone instead of stopping at the pay station. ParkWhiz for Alexa: Find parking hands-free on any device enabled with Amazon Alexa. Just say “Alexa, find parking” and get a parking recommendation based on where you’re going and when. ParkWhiz for Alexa works both in-car and in-home so you can find parking while focusing on driving or other tasks. Download the ParkWhiz app, available for iOS and Android.

Excellent customer service Excellent customer service. I booked a garage in Astoria (Astoria Central Parking on 31st St) but then had to leave my car with the mechanic for a few days and ended up not needing the parking. I called ParkWhiz to cancel a 4-day reservation the day after it had started (I forgot to cancel the day before). They called the parking garage for me and originally offered me a $30 credit (the total had been $80 + tax). I asked whether they could give me a full refund for the 3 days that hadn't passed yet ($60)—the garage's usual cancellation policy is free cancellation before your reservation begins. She got back on the other line and negotiated for me and when she came back about 5-10 minutes later, she offered me a refund of $60, plus a credit of $20 for the previous day. She was so nice and really went above and beyond and it made my day better! (And softened the blow of my hefty mechanic bill.) Will definitely be using their services again.

Expensive parking, and a scam The parking lot was in a good spot, and they advertise that you can pay by QR code, but the Parkwhiz app didn’t update the parking attendant’s ticket computer, so we got a ticket even though I extended our time way before the original expiration time. The parking attendant said that it doesn’t work to extend the time online, but there are no signs saying so anywhere in the lot. We got a $95 ticket plus paying over $80 for parking.

Save yourself the grief I purchased a ticket for a concert, and then a few days later asked for a refund due to just getting a hotel room close to the venue. The parking ticket was way overpriced once it was all said and done. I received an E-mail that I'd receive a refund within 3-5 business days. Well, that never happened. I contacted the company who told me to contact my bank about the refund policies. Yeah, no refund was ever sent to my bank.

Beware of Overbookings! Drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles for a concert. Got there within 10 minutes of my reservation time only to find the lot full and closed off. Had to use the valet service next door. Very frustrating. UPDATE: ParkWhiz was very responsive to my issue, and refunded my money. I also had a second booking with them in San Diego which went smoothly. Upgrading to 3 stars.
