Unexpected charges without my consent! My recent experience with Avis at the Orlando International Airport was disappointing and frustrating. Upon arrival to pick up my rental car, I was confronted with unexpected extra charges that were not clearly explained by the Avis representative. After informing the Avis representative that they charged me more than my agreement with booking.com he acknowledged that I was being charged more than the agreed-upon amount. He stated that he was unable to adjust the charges in the system and suggested that I return when a manager was available to address the issue. Given our early departure on April 30th, I asked about the availability of a manager at 4 am, to which I was informed that the manager won’t be present at that time. Instead, I was advised to contact Avis via email. So unfortunately, i trusted him and went ahead and signed the contract not knowing what the extra charges were for. Notably, at no point during our interaction did he mention any insurance options or asked if I wanted additional coverage. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue with via email, my request for a refund for the excess charges was denied by Avis, citing that I had signed the contract that included insurances (which I already had paid for through Booking.com and they know it!) This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied with Avis and their lack of communication and transparency. As a result, they have lost a client, and I will be seeking alternative rental options in the future.

Lost and Stolen, Avis Does not TRY at all On 22 March,2024 I returned a truck that I rented from Miami Airport the week before and exchanged it for a car at Palm Beach international airport, Unknowingly, I left a Ryobi pressure cleaner in the backseat and when I realized this later I filed a lost item report, # 19206369. Over the next week and a half checked with the lost and found at Avis but it never showed up. I checked for two weeks. I called a few times no call would ever go through. On April 4th I drove to the Avis at Palm Beach County airport to speak directly to someone at the counter to see what happened. They had no information. They told me my item was never logged in to lost and found in Avis. Frustrated I spoke to one of the customer service reps, Frank, that accepts cars and removes anything that that might've been left in the car. Frank clearly remembered the truck because it stayed in the same place for a couple of days where I parked it. He remembered seeing the pressure cleaner in it and he had no idea what happened to it, but he remembered clearly that it was in there. He thought maybe somebody had taken the truck home and somebody had taken the pressure cleaner and not turned it in. This constitutes theft. I've spent a lot of time every day checking to see if it's showing up and lost and found, calling and then having to drive all the way up to the airport all because somebody didn't do the job that they were required to do and were stealing my personal possessions. I have since filed a police report on this theft and gave a copy of this to Avis and they have done NOTHING to Try Harder to make things right

Avis making illegal charges to your credit card I have been Avis customer for many years, since 2007, every time that i rent a car i used to thought in Avis, My mindset changed last week when i got a letter from Avis asking for USD 400+ due to Smoke Smell. I rent this car to drive around Texas, i visited some friends in Houston, San Antonio and South Texas, i drove the car all the time, and all the time i was with my wife and two teenager girls. I felt rip with this charge to my credit card, i called and explain that i never smoke and i was all the time with my family, that is impossible that the car smoke smell, but the customer service insist that they found cigarettes on the car. Im really disappointed, i believe that Avis did not clean the car well before handover to me otherwise their service contractor is not saying the true and trying to get money illegally and somebody in AVIS is taking advantage of this situation. I asked to talk to a manager but they asked me to wait for the call. a day later i got a letter saying they will charge to my credit card. I will report it to my account manager, i work for international company, i will make sure that they know about this incident, this is very embarrassing, Happily I will share this with my friends to make sure Avis dont steal their money like they illegally did with me, this is a shame. I hope AVIS investigate what is going on with their crappy service,

Booked a car online Booked a car online, advertised free cancellation. First it advertises 792 USD for the car, on top of which come fees not advertised. With all insurances it costs 1449 that was directly charged to my credit card. I had to call AVIS as regardless of having cancelled it online my credit card was charged 1449 USD, not just pending. Then I called and learnt that either I would pay online at a lower price or pay upon pickup about 150 more and then it would be a free cancellation. However regardless of my choice on the homepage it said free cancellation. On the phone then I learnt that cancellation costs 50 USD. I asked for money back, for cancellation to be waived and overall can only say that renting a car overall is like getting into a racket these days. The fine print is at ≤6pt in size and goes directly against what is printed in bolt at 24pt, like the cancellation fee. Why would someone advertise a price that with insurance and fees is just half of what the actual price is in the end? I would never book a car from AVIS again. The entire homepage is littered with asterisks, because with nearly everything being advertised it is limited to whatever. Make up your mind, AVIS, you are professionally dishonest and that's really all you would get a five star rating for.
