ESThree long hours in the middle of the… Three long hours in the middle of the night to get a car at JFK. Horrible, terribly slow and incompetent or intentionally bad treatment from one of the agents. When we finally reached our turn, the reservation has been a "no-show" (??!). After a vigorous discussion that they half-mouth confirm it was not our fault, but the only way to get a car is to pay again on the spot (we booked and prepaid for a car through a 3rd party). We were given a smaller car than the 7-seater we requested. We were supposed to receive a refund of the second payment in a few days, which has never happened. We were asked to speak to our agency and ask for a refund from them, though it was not the agency's fault. After a lot of back and forth we received partial refund of what we paid to Avis and were advised that they have event given us a "bonus". So, in a nutshell, they made us pay a second time to get a car and declined refunding the undue payment. Ridiculous, arrogant service! Avoid.

NLTotal scam is Avis / Budget Total scam is Avis / Budget. Rented a car for 106Euro. Had to pay 179Euro extra for ‘something i signed for’. A windshield protection. They mislead you in signing a vague contract and threaten you with large 3.500 Euro fines for a tiny scratch. DO NOT RENT HERE EVER. This happened at Malaga airport.

AWUnexpected charges without my consent! My recent experience with Avis at the Orlando International Airport was disappointing and frustrating. Upon arrival to pick up my rental car, I was confronted with unexpected extra charges that were not clearly explained by the Avis representative. After informing the Avis representative that they charged me more than my agreement with booking.com he acknowledged that I was being charged more than the agreed-upon amount. He stated that he was unable to adjust the charges in the system and suggested that I return when a manager was available to address the issue. Given our early departure on April 30th, I asked about the availability of a manager at 4 am, to which I was informed that the manager won’t be present at that time. Instead, I was advised to contact Avis via email. So unfortunately, i trusted him and went ahead and signed the contract not knowing what the extra charges were for. Notably, at no point during our interaction did he mention any insurance options or asked if I wanted additional coverage. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue with via email, my request for a refund for the excess charges was denied by Avis, citing that I had signed the contract that included insurances (which I already had paid for through Booking.com and they know it!) This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied with Avis and their lack of communication and transparency. As a result, they have lost a client, and I will be seeking alternative rental options in the future.

GBAvis doesn't try harder- they try hardly at all Avis doesn't try harder- they try hardly at all! Given a defective car in Miami airport with low tire pressure and leak right out of the airport- the tire alert went off and we had to make an appointment so figured I could deal with this after we arrived. Couldn't get anyone to help me on the phone, tried to replace the car at a local avis place and they literally laughed at me and told me I had to go back to Miami airport (45 min away). Put air in the tire on way to Key West and the tire continued to leak air and returned it a day early to avoid a flat. The car was supposed to have a Nav system (it did not) and satellite radio (it did but no channels subscribed so useless). So called to complain- what did they offer me? A free day (I returned the car a day early already) and would take off of the satellite radio (which I didn't get anyway). Would never rent from them again. If I could give 0 stars I would!

CAAvis making illegal charges to your credit card I have been Avis customer for many years, since 2007, every time that i rent a car i used to thought in Avis, My mindset changed last week when i got a letter from Avis asking for USD 400+ due to Smoke Smell. I rent this car to drive around Texas, i visited some friends in Houston, San Antonio and South Texas, i drove the car all the time, and all the time i was with my wife and two teenager girls. I felt rip with this charge to my credit card, i called and explain that i never smoke and i was all the time with my family, that is impossible that the car smoke smell, but the customer service insist that they found cigarettes on the car. Im really disappointed, i believe that Avis did not clean the car well before handover to me otherwise their service contractor is not saying the true and trying to get money illegally and somebody in AVIS is taking advantage of this situation. I asked to talk to a manager but they asked me to wait for the call. a day later i got a letter saying they will charge to my credit card. I will report it to my account manager, i work for international company, i will make sure that they know about this incident, this is very embarrassing, Happily I will share this with my friends to make sure Avis dont steal their money like they illegally did with me, this is a shame. I hope AVIS investigate what is going on with their crappy service,
