Car rental for the 21st century! Great service at a great price. Not only is Getaround most of the time cheaper and more ecological than renting a car from a professional renter such as Avis or Hertz, it is also much more convenient. No waiting in line for hours, no spending 20mn filling out the same contract each time. And it is a lifesaver when you need a car at the last minute or an ungodly hour, and especially in areas not served by traditional renting agencies. A win-win-win-win-win ;-)

Buying the premium or plus insurance… Buying the premium or plus insurance doesn't lower your security deposit as stated in Getaround's "Guide for Premium & Plus Insurance". My security deposit ended up being 1500$ with the Plus insurance. They also hold the security deposit for 7 days which is weird to me because the owner can rent the vehicle to other people a few days after you returned the car. I didn't damage the rental and the owner did not report any damages either but Getaround still has my security deposit. It has been a week since I rented from this app. Seems shady, besides there are better apps that are more reasonable and budget friendly. If you are in need of a car, I would rather use Turo or Zipcar instead because it would of been easier on my wallet. Putting $1500 aside for 1 week is not ideal.

Marin Getaway The car was easy to locate and park in the Mason Street garage. It was a bit difficult to locate where the gas cap was. I had to ask the gas station attendant for help. However, I would rent from this provider again.

There was a period where Getaround’s… There was a period where Getaround’s agents were a mixed bag but lately they’ve been consistently good. It goes a long way when calling them is usually a stressful situation.

Very good application Used this application for the first time in Paris région. Pros : The instructions are very clear, easy to use. I had to use "contactless" option since it was closest to my place, you unlock the vehicle yourself using your phone. I could rent it on 1st of May, a holiday, which is not possible with other professional renting companies. Cons : The vehicle was quite old and has some damages, that's something you dont see on the photos nor is it mentioned anywhere.
