AUExcellent Crashplan Alternative I am currently on the 15-day trial with Cloudberry desktop backup for Windows and have been looking for a crashplan replacement with particular reference to compression, security (ransomware protection and transfer encryption protection built in) and having a choice of where to backup my data - cloud (Wasabi), NAS or USB. Cloudberry offers me more functionality than crashplan and at a very competitive price. I am using this for my small business and personal use to backup files automatically. The GUI is intuitive and user-friendly. The setup was quick and understandable. Pros: Choice of backup destinations. Security (ransomware protection and transfer encryption) Easy to set up and adjustment of configuration. User friendly GUI with great navigation. Competitive pricing and great support. Cons Mobile phone App to view and download your backup files. Emailed backup report to be more detailed.

SECloudberry backup seems to offer… Cloudberry backup seems to offer exactly what I'm looking for; utilizing cloud storage without a 3rd party service, remaining in control of my data, advanced options (types of backups, retention policies, a variety of cloud storage options). Only downside it that you need to spend a fair amount of time figuring out how to tune your backup plans to optimize cost to different use cases

GBProvides a good DIY cloud backup… Provides a good DIY cloud backup solution. Supports dozens of cloud service providers, file versioning, encryption, and does not leak meta data by encrypting file names (that last one is possible on some but not all clouds). The software is robust and easy to use. I have tested a half-dozen backup solutions and CloudBerry Backup is the most reliable, flexible and easy to use (compared to Duplicati and Arq for example).

GBGood DIY Backup Solution I have been evaluating CloudBerry Desktop Backup on a Windows 10 machine and a Linux (Mint 17.1) machine for about a week now. I am uploading to a Backblaze B2 account and have numerous backup plans uploading to a number of Backblaze buckets as well as doing some LAN backups to a local file server on our network. So far, everything has worked really well. I do wish the Linux version's feature set was as robust as the Windows version. With that being said though, both versions are adequately meeting my needs. For the few minor issues I have had Cloudberry's support has been very responsive and helpful. Would recommend.

ESIncredibly hit & miss (But mostly miss)... Incredibly hit & miss I have been using some of their products for some time now, and they are shockingly unreliable. 4 out of 5 times that I try to copy/move something to S3, their software just sits and does nothing. After trying again a few times, eventually it works. I have been unable to find any common thread in the instances where it doesn't work. I have tried it across different buckets, from different machines, copying and moving; it seems entirely random. In conclusion, not a product worth spending time or money on. Edit 1 - 21/12/2017: I have now given up on their products entirely. I think the 1 in 5 success rate I had was a fluke, as it went down to 1 in 20 or so. It was easier for me to program scripts in AWS CLI to do what this program was meant to do then keep trying. Edit 2 - 21/12/2017: The reply Cloudberry asking me if I have opened a support case is hilarious, and one of the reasons they only get 1 star (But I forgot to add it in my original review. You can't ask them for support unless you're a paying customer (and I am glad I didn't waste my money on software that doesn't work). Instead they direct you to some generic forums for IT questions. this wouldn't be so bad if they had their own dedicated sub-forum, but since they don't, you're on your own... Good luck with that... (This is also why I've reduced this to a 1-star review)
