Very functional but not user friendly, particularly for the vendors Very functional Multi vendor marketplace but also very archaic - not at all intuitive. I needed help from an experienced developer at all times so it cost me a lot more to set up my website. My problem now is that the vendors will find this even more difficult to work with. I am actually quite embarrassed to present them with the vendor panel that they have to work with to list their products etc because it looks 20 years old! I know I will find it harder to attract and keep vendors because of this which is a serious problem because without them there is no marketplace. If CS-Cart focus their attention on creating an intuitive admin experience then this platform will be very workable. But if they don't do this quickly then I will probably regret my decision to buy their platform.

The best marketplace system that none of other companies can offer to start up from my experiences Pro: Cs-cart multivendor has many features that ready to use for any new startup business, your business can start run within a month. Cs-cart MVE is simple and easy to use with detail documentation; CS-cart MVE is not too expensive. Customer support are very friendly and useful. None of other marketplace softwares can give your business these features to start up and it will be alot more expensive compare to CS-cart MVE. Cons: CS-cart MVE is getting more complicated since they released more versions; especially for older users because there are many old addons that are deprecated addons just staying there which im feeling might cause security problem in the long run. The software is already having many features but doesnot modernize template or update to latest technology, so as more features are added that will cause more problems. However, I still recommend anyone to use CS-cart MVE over others such as Magento, Woocommerce, and even horrible Webkul marketplace software... Because CS-cart MVE is very simple to use, cost effective, and there are many ready features that can help my company run the business within 2 months without adding more cost.

However, if you don’t have such resources, CS Cart may disappoint you in many areas, and unfortunately it has been our case. Although we are quite tech-savyy business people, with a front-end developer on board, customizing CS Cart, so it looks at least quite modern and user friendly, has been a challenge and a really time-consuming process. Even though you get a free trial before buying, you just can’t test everything and many issues come out later. Most important pros: - great support team; - quite extensive and very helpful community on forum; - if you are ready to invest a lot in custom development, it’s probably one of the most robust platforms on the market. I also heard from professionals that it’s very stable regarding the security, but it’s hard for me to assess this; - many add-ons to choose from. Most important cons: - rather impossible to be configured by non-tech people, since it’s really complicated and non-intuitive. It doesn’t need to be a con, however it’s worth to mention it in the sales process, so there's no disappointment; - requires a LOT of custom development to become aesthetic and user friendly - even the design themes that you can buy additionally are still not very modern; - vendor panel - old-fashioned in design, and very hard to navigate for vendors. It requires a well-developed financial system especially for payment systems whether local or international which need to be mentioned at the very beginning of the sales process. Otherwise, be prepared to spend on readily developed add-ons and which still not customized. Nevertheless, CS Cart is an excellent platform, opening tons of possibilities for creating a great marketplace. On one hand, the main highlight to mention it is that there is an excellent CS-Cart support team which responds quickly and clearly when you face any problem. On other hand, there is also a nice community on a forum, which is really helpful. However, if you don’t have enough financial resources, CS-Cart and all its add-ons may be disappointing in many areas, and unfortunately it has been our case. It is very challenging to see the platform bringing in new functionalities with a new version incompatible with existing add-ons or themes. If you accept to upgrade, you lose some of the add-ons which need to be deleted or stopped or even cause a total malfunction of the whole platform. If there is any customization and you upgrade the platform, it can be lost forever or requires you to spend more money for a new one. Furthermore, many CS-Cart third party developers their add-ons are not compatibles even when they seem to be complementary. It has been a challenge and a really time and money consuming process. Most important pros: - Great experience in the market; - Great support team; - Helpful community on forum; - Many add-ons and Themes to choose from. - The marketplace will always look professional. Most important cons: - Too much frequent upgrades causing existing customizations, add-ons and Themes not working properly as main consequence of waste of money in case you ought to hire the support teams for both CS-Cart and its third party developers; - It is very costly to integrate CS-Cart platform with any other systems (like payment provider etc.) because of its constant upgrades which go with incompatibilities. My overall rate is average, because it has been disappointing for us to accommodate all the changes within CS-Cart platform and its third party add-ons and themes.

Very good solution to quickly and easily build an online marketplace CS Cart Multivendor provides the complete marketplace environment and structure by default, so you can start to build and run your own online marketplace. It provides for example a vendor onboarding system where vendors can apply for a vendor account, easy way to upload products, options for different product categories, filter options, a lot of different payment methods and the possibility to distribute payments from customers between vendors and the marketplace owner. Pros: - fair price for a marketplace system - it offers all the features you need to build and run an online marketplace - large network of (third party) companies that provide add ons for multivendor and offer them for a fair price - great support from CS Cart support team - high flexibility Cons: - the entry into the complex system is a bit complicated at the beginning, so it will take time to understand the logic behind the backend and the interplay with the frontend. CS Cart offers a lot of good tutorials to get into it, but what would had helped us at the beginning would be a starting tutorial which provides a general overview before getting into details. - more payment methods for stripe connect by default would be good (e.g. Klarna etc.). What is still to be mentioned from our point of view and we would have liked to know in advance: - The less add ons, especially from third parties, the better. Otherwise bugs can occur during the upgrade if the add ons are not (yet) compatible with the newer versions of Multivendor. - We regretted a little bit to have chosen a third party theme. Not in terms of design, but there were always bugs in the design of the frontend after we upgraded because the third party themes are not always adapted to newer versions of Multivendor. Conclusion: All in all, if we had to choose an online marketplace software again with today's knowledge, we would choose Multivendor again.
