Good final result, rough time getting there We had a drop ceiling installed in our basement... The finished product is mostly how we would like it, but it took a few return visits from the installers to get to that point. The workers drilled the wrong size holes in the ceiling tiles, but they came back to correct it. They cut the crown moulding around an outlet without asking us what we would like to do about it (we would've preferred to just remove the outlet and not had a big notch out of the molding). They also left the crown moulding very dirty, but luckily I was able to clean it all off. Lastly, one of the workers left quite a surprise for us in the basement toilet... Which we felt was less than professional. Overall we are now happy with the results with the exception of the outlet cutout in the moulding.

Not very well done. We had our basement system upgraded from an older system and it was not installed as promised. They were supposed to install the dehumidifier in one spot and it was put somewhere else that was not centrally located. It’s also barely on the blocks they used to hold it up. They were supposed to reinstall our insulation, but it was very shoddily done and parts of it have already fallen down. They used tape to hold the anti-microbial layer down instead of whatever they did with the last barrier we had and it does not do a good job. Also, the layer does not seem as nice as the last one we had. Until the annual service it looked like crap. They made the team that installed it drive almost 2 and a half hours one way daily to do the installation instead of putting them up in a hotel. It’s crazy that our “local” office is in Zebulon, NC instead of Va. Beach, VA. The last guy did make it look better, but the tape has already started to come off again. We have tried on numerous occasions to complain but we have received not response from them. The system is keeping the moisture down, but I am not happy with the customer service at all. I sent my most recent complaints in about 3 weeks ago and have still heard nothing.

Great Job in A Very Crowded Crawlspace Sales and planning process were very smooth. Crew that worked at my property were polite and communicated what was going on. There was a minor issue that needed to be cleared up, but the account management team took care of it in a timely manor. Overall, I am very satisfied with the work performed.

Excellent waterproofing My house is located in a wet area and I always have water coming into my crawlspace, even if it hasn’t rained in several weeks. The moisture issues are compounded by the presence of iron ochre, which would cause the trench drain and sump pit in my crawlspace to clog and overflow unless I crawled back into it and treated it with bleach/chlorine every week. Basement Systems suggested a plan to install a new drainage system and relocate my sump to an area that would be much easier to access and maintain. They upgraded the existing sump pump to a triple safe system with three pumps (including a battery backup!) so I have multiple redundancies in place to prevent flooding. They also wrapped my crawlspace with a heavy duty vapor barrier to keep all of that moisture from permeating up through my house. I couldn’t have been happier with Javier and his crew, and my wife had no qualms about having them in our house while I was away at work. They called me several times to communicate their schedule, and took care to protect the flooring on the main level of my house. Javier was more than willing to work with me to route the sump discharge pipes in the area I wanted them. He and his crew worked very hard and put in extra hours to have the job completed on schedule in two days even though they ran into several unexpected issues. I couldn’t be happier with the quality of work, the professionalism of the crew, and the integrity of company, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Basement Systems to anyone.
