My poor elderly Mom Mom, 87 years old, disabled, requiring 24 hour care. Needed her downstairs toilet, which had come loose at the base to be fixed. Mom can only use ground floor facilities. James the supervisor ! decided that a complete new toilet system was required. He advised that traditional style toilets were no longer available and were only made in white, as Mom has a champagne suite. A picture was sent, by James of the toilet from a showroom which is identical to the Selco catalogue approximate cost £120 inc. James charged Mom £882.30 for extremely amateurish work. The toilet is unusable by Mom, damage to paint work, plasterboard etc. Avoid them at all costs.

They have replaced a boiler , fitted a new fireplace , and carried out countless other plumbing jobs at my property and my wife’s business premises. Suspicious quotes - beware James from 2nd City recently quoted me £336.00 (inc VAT) to replace a syphon and handle kit in my toilet cistern. I was suspicious as it seemed a simple repair so got a second quote that was £70-80 max. I also have suspicions about one of two further quotes James gave me (for over £1,000) as my second opinion diagnosed a different, much less serious problem that needs little if any attention. I was surprised to be charged £65+VAT for the visit which was effectively giving me a bit of advice and quoting me for these 3 jobs. I will not be using 2nd City and am suspicious about all the 5 star reviews on here. Following 2nd City's response, I am inclined to say that I am simply reporting the facts and how my experience made me feel

The lads arrived when they said they would and got on with unblocking my mains drain after quickly identifying the problem location.
