GBI recently purchased a SOG SEAL XR… I recently purchased a SOG SEAL XR fixed knife from SOG. The knife is excellent and it would hold up in a combat situation. The sheath is another matter all together. SOG's kydex sheath's are made in China. If the sheath is inferior in quality to what it carries, then it will fail under stress. If SOG is going to advertise their knives are made in the United States then they should also convey their sheath's are made in a communist country; a country that makes inferior products! Your selling your knives to active duty personnel, veterans, etc... For a $300.00 knife you would think everything would be of the highest quality. Not a company saving a few dollars on a sheath because their cheaper to make in a communist country. Those dollars your saving could lead up to the sheath failing when a veteran or police officer needs it the most! The customer service for SOG is not great either. I waited for a call back for 2.5 hours. They have no problem with taking your money immediately, but the return policy is time consuming and you have to pay to return their knive's and piece of s..t sheath's. GBI've been a SOG knife owner for over 10… I've been a SOG knife owner for over 10 years. From my first Trident to the latest Trident, I have purchased 6 knives, 2 keychains and a tabletop sharpener. All are first rate quality especially the USA made OTS Automatic I bought last year from SMKW in Sevierville, TN. Saving my mad money for their OTF Automatic.

GBToday just found out Today just found out The warranty from sog is not lifetime...you can check sog website...and there say they have lifetime warranty....lol That's a totally joke... I have some problem with a sog trident and powerpint Costumer service from this company is pretty bad...don't care about Costumer service... Was fan of this brand for years Now...idk This not good Costumer service I think I'm going to stay with gerber... Gerber Costumer service is top notch...

GBMy Flash II SOG will not close - Never buy SOG. My Flash II SOG will not close. It's a throw out! I contacted the company and they will not fix or replace. It is barely used and not abused - none of their "warrantee rejection reasons" below relate to my care of the knife. I will never again by a SOG knife and recommend that you don't either. Here's the Company Response for my request for help: Thank you for submitting your online warranty request. We regret to inform you that your request has been denied. Our Sog warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, resharpening, damage caused by misuse, lack of normal maintenance, or disassembly. We do not have replacement parts to send out or for purchase.

GBSOG customer service SUCKS! I sent a knife back for warranty repair. The person I was talking to said I just have to send it back and they'd take care of it. We'll, apparently, a new company took over, or something, and when I contacted them about the status of my knife, they told me of I didn't get a return authorization number that they don't have the knife. I asked if they would just throw the package away without it, they said yes when the person that told me to just send it in and I asked if I needed a number and they said NO! So I wouldn't recommend buying SOG products if this is how customer service is now, but that's up to you!???
