Shorten your learning curve to correct SaaS Accounting My company is 7.5 years old and we have successfully made the 'pivot' from a consulting company to a SaaS+ company while building our Healthcare Data Interoperability Platform. I've done a fair amount of finance and accounting over my career, but what I realized after making this pivot was that I just didn't have the information that other SaaS companies had, and it was driving me nuts. Not only did I not have a straight-forward way of calculating the metrics I needed, I was unable to benchmark my company against others in our field. I started researching and ran across Ben's website and the plethora of information he provides. That lead me to look into his SaaSCFO course, and after doing a pretty detailed investigation, I elected to take the course, and I enrolled my Director of Finance as well. We attended the January 23 cohort for six weeks. Honestly, I was blown away. From the very beginning, it became clear why I was struggling. Like many, I was using a standard QB Chart of Accounts to produce a standard P&L & Balance Sheet, and that just flat does not work.
