General Surgery Applicant with the help of Dr. Ruby I am a US-IMG who applied to General Surgery for the 2024 match cycle. I worked with Dr. Ruby as my mentor at MedSchool Coach. He was a great mentor. He was readily available to take any calls or texts I had at almost any time. He was great at communicating which is essential during the match cycle. He was knowledgeable about the match cycle and what made a desirable applicant. He was great at helping me fine-tune my application and giving me suggestions based on his vast experience. He also encouraged me to make the final decision on content and edits, ensuring my application was personal. I would suggest Dr. Ruby to any applicant applying to general surgery.

Excellent Experience After a failed application cycle, I was cynical about my chances of success in another one. Dr. Blair Nelson gave me the optimism to trust in the process from the very first meeting. Always prompt with feedback and guidance, he provided excellent constructive criticism and much needed moral support throughout the cycle. RJ was very thorough with editing during primaries and secondaries and helped me present the best version of myself on paper. Being able to choose from a variety of different advisors for interview prep allowed for diverse feedback from multiple interviewer perspectives. I have received multiple acceptances this cycle and am forever grateful to Dr. Nelson and the team for their invaluable support and believing in me throughout the long cycle. 10/10!!!

Nothing special I found the interviewer for my mock MMI to be not very helpful. He asked a total of 4 questions, all which were basic and on any free online resource. He rambled on for a while about unrelated topics, which wasted the limited amount of time we had. He also did not provide helpful or specific feedback. The MMI was also not structured- no timer, no follow up questions. Overall, not worth the whopping $350. The experience was something I could have found on Google or Youtube for free.

Dr. Blair Nelson 10/10!! Dr. Blair Nelson consistently went out of his way to help me by offering insightful advice and recommendations for my essays. He was easily reachable and responded quickly. He also helped me feel very comfortable for my interviews by helping me hone in on my strengths and act naturally. Most importantly, he cares deeply about his students' success. Dr. Nelson helped me during my second application cycle. His help made this second cycle much smoother and less stressful. I attribute much of my medical school acceptance to his dedication and support. I would recommend him to anyone! 10/10!!

Very Beneficial Experience This experience provided me with a better understanding of the structure of a B.S./M.D. interview and gave me greater insight into what interviewers would like to hear. Dr. Steph Lee was very thorough and supportive throughout the entire process! I would highly recommend this service if you're preparing for an interview.
