About Hear and Play Music

At Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center, our passion is helping musicians worldwide unlock the art of playing the piano by ear. Founded in 2000 by Jermaine Griggs, we have dedicated decades to teaching the dynamic skill of understanding and interpreting music through ear training, music theory, and recognizing patterns. Our focus is on soulful music genres that best express this art form, including gospel, jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and pop. We believe that playing by ear transcends traditional music learning methods, allowing musicians to experience and express music in a deeply personal way. Our specialized approach teaches students to hear recurring themes in songs and interpret them creatively on the piano. Over the years, we have reached and serviced more than 2 million musicians through various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, our email newsletter, free lessons, comprehensive paid courses, and a personalized coaching program. Our resources are designed to cater to learners at different stages of their musical journey, from beginners to advanced players. A wonderful experience Hear and Play has been a wonderful experience. The TEAM is patient and understanding no matter your expertise. They are always willing to offer a heart of compassion and encouragement on your journey level. Take your time and go through the information. The training is beneficial. If you have questions or concerns about your progress, they are a text, email, or call away. You can volunteer to participate in recitals or just show support to someone else. Thank you, Jermaine Griggs and the entire team including the persons who worked in the background when I didn't know they were there.

Supporting more hands-on live… Supporting more hands-on live assistance. Opposed to just selling products. I was disappointed with the way discounts were offered and I was charged thousands over the years. I haven't learned or advanced at all. I'm still believing God that I'll meet someone to help me with music, now that I'm retired. I've been purchasing from early 2000 until 2014, or so

Hear & Play Makes My Goals Attainable at a reasonable price I learned to play the keys for churches by ear in small African churches that played contemporary Christian music and Nigerian praise. I have a lot of gaps in my knowledge and tool belt that hear & play is helping me fill! I always wished I could learn to play like gospel and r&b pianists but now it’s attainable!

With a world renowned Professor of Music that can teach, simplify, and take you to your next musical level. With a family of musicians that are also willing to practice with you. Until you get to where you want to be as a professional musician. I would encourage anyone to just try it for 6 months. You will see amazing results
