GBNew perspectives to song writing and production I did a 4 week mentorship with Ian Prince. I brought a few song drafts to our intro session and we narrowed down to one track to focus on for the duration of the mentorship. What an absolute joy it was having him as a teacher. He provided such wisdom, insight, and actionable feedback, and opened my ears and mind to new ways of approaching structure, writing, production, and sonic depth. He guided me through the tools with a very hands-on approach, demoing/screensharing stuff live, and even helped me with specific elements by singing or improving instrumentation examples over my existing tracks. The specificity and concrete demos really helped me understand what he was talking about, in addition to his clear communication even about more abstract elements and concepts. He was so approachable and incredibly generous with his time, and I truly felt inspired throughout the process.

DEIncredible 6 weeks mentorship with Lavender Looi I had a 6 week mentorship with Lavender Looi. She was absolutely incredible. She is very experienced and professional. She has a vision and a strong sense in music production. Listening to her thought process alone was very helpful. We worked on a new song and fixing an old song that i did previously. She was really nice and she answered all my questions during our calls or per email. Her focus was to help me and answer all my questions even if we exceeded the 45 mins call time. Every week we had a call. During the call, she gave me feedback on what i did the previous week in my songs and answered all my questions and the obstacles i faced and shows me how to do things or sent me absolutely helpful videos. At the end of each call she gave me a homework to work on some parts of the 2 songs. I learned a lot about music production from her. Before this program i was lost and was orienting myself to the youtube videos but she gave me a sense of direction and validated what i was doing right and gave me feedback how to improve other things. She gave me a lot of tips and helped understand the reason for many decisions i take during the music production process. I am absolutely grateful for this experience. Maybe as a hint, a weekly call can a bit stressful for someone who works on the side, but it is doable and i also used the 2 break weeks to do more progress in my songs.

CAGreat place to level up your skills! Marcela was truly an awesome mentor she really helped me dial my mixes in. Overall the experience with Soundfly was very positive as the people working there are approachable (virtually) and always willing to help.

CASoundfly is like Nitro for your learning music production journey Soundfly is a great way to accelerate your learning journey. They really have great comprehensive courses and an excellent One on One mentorship program where you get direct input from an experienced mentor who helps you accomplish your goals. It's best to have one or two well defined goals vs trying to learn a whole bunch in a month. You get at least 4 weekly sessions - these fly by if you are not focused. Best to go deep than wide. My mentor was awesome Joseph - but I had too many goals I think. I learned alot, but will adjust my goals next time. Why not 5 stars? I would suggest that the goal outlines and clear success metrics should be discussed even more before starting... my fault, but Soundfly could integrate this into the onboarding process. I'm probably a little unfair to them as every student is different. But 4 1 hour sessions can only do so much - better to get really focused. Otherwise they are real, honest, professional and nice people... and a great slack community! Honestly try it - great content, community, value for money. It's better than just some monthly video course... its direct, live and specific to your needs, and your learning stage. You will love the progress you make with Soundfly.

MXComplete waste of time, Unprofessional, false advertising Complete waste of time, they keep saying they're going to set you up with top mentors and talent and then they pick somebody that's less talented they don't give you a way to contact that person, they keep trying to sell you their monthly system of which they're going to take forever to teach you something versus learn the things that you want to learn or be mentored on the things that you want to learn. When you give them feedback they're like little kindergarten babies they get all upset because you're not doing everything they want and they're not making money. The main guy works out of a little tiny apartment trying to network I guess with these top talents that he claims he has and yet you can never get to any of the top talents, at least I couldn't and I tried for over a week. Don't waste your time, anybody that has that level of unprofessionalism, can't take feedback can't communicate is not worth the time of day. You can't buy back time and this guy just wastes it. His reply shows his unprofessionalism. I never harassed them I sent an email saying I was discouraged with the fact that every day he sent me emails saying he was going to set me up with somebody and never did. And then when we talked on the phone we had a very nice conversation until the point he then abruptly interrupted the nice conversation and said geez you’re just not good enough for us. He’s unprofessional, the whole thing is a stack of cards with a lot of fancy upfront graphics, but basically they’re trying to sell you stuff and they really don’t care about you is what I learned from the way that they acted. If they truly had good customer service and cared about people they would’ve not react this way. For him now to defend me because I told the truth the hell they acted as a company and acted in providing with their advertising, by not providing with their advertising, shows their true colors. If you wanna waste your time with these people you’ll find out it’s the same
