Incredibly useful for boating Finally had a chance to acid-test the thing: cloudy night over the water, pitch black out to naked eye - though horizon lights around my bay and far-off city light haze provide a bit of illumination; color night mode test for boating use. I'm absolutely stunned by the detail observed - can clearly distinguish rocks, floating debris/logs, waves. Not even using the IR illuminator! Compare iPhone XS: black screen.

Upon purchase of your explorer pro kit… Upon purchase of your explorer pro kit for almost $1,200 I think there is a problem with the sensor or processor in the digital night vision device. It doesn't even work at all in various light conditions low light and near moonless, darkness. It has a very grainy picture. With the IR illuminator it works great. However, there's no night vision without use of IR illuminator.

I had a minor disappointment when I received the Explorer Pro kit and I emailed it to Justin Johnson and he must have ran it up the chain of command because the next thing I know I'm receiving a UPS delivery of an extra, not included assembly at No Charge, at my office. Great Optics, . . but the user interface… Great picture but the user interface feels like Windows 1995 and the clumsy button setups on top are awful! Click this 2 times to get something to record or play. It’s just some really lame controls put on this awesome camera. It’s like buying a Porsche with VW steering and suspension! Kills the whole experience. Plus guys, we gotta work on the battery life and the resolution. Surely you can get a bigger battery in there along with at least some 1080p resolution?? That is the bottom line these day as many thing have moved in to 4K. My drone has 5k Great design otherwise and outstanding optics, clarity, and overall picture for the money! It’s as good as you can get for close range night vision. McC
