GBThe OG I love Private Internet Access VPN. They are a reliable, trustworthy, and economically priced solution for anyone concerned about their online privacy in an increasingly censored and misleading online world. -James D. Tolen

ITOnly for geeks? My second time with PIA as a dumb user, hoping that this time would be better. In fact, it got worse, I guess this is also because apps, sites, browsers, etc. have by now developed a way of overcoming or altogether blocking it. I had to eliminate PIA on the phone, as it made most apps crash, and only partially use on the desktop, amidst frequent crashes and interferences. The customer service is kind and easily approachable but, again, unless you are a geek, things don't get easier.

GBPIA works great PIA works great, better than expected. I really am surprised at how well it works on Fedora Linux, the app is very easy to install and use, and no leakage. Also surprised by the huge number of servers. Only disappointment is the Firefox extension, it has a very limited number of servers and it slows down browser startup a little, but I think it is still worth using alongside the system-wide app. The Android app is good, works well on Fire OS too. The discounted rate for the first 2 years is great, the included year of pCloud 500GB storage is a nice bonus (didn't notice that until they sent me the email with a link to redeem it). I signed up to support Perun, he has great defense logistics & Ukraine war analysis videos on Youtube. Previously I occasionally used free services, DIY VPN with a few web hosts, and Tor, but I thought I didn't really need a VPN. Now, barely a week later, I'm glad I have it, I'm able to watch a few things I couldn't before (BBC & CBC content in the US), get the correct state sales tax on a few sites (GOG) while using Starlink (instead of randomly show up in any of a dozen states where Starlink has gateways), use wifi in a few places I would not otherwise (Walmart, other places with heavy tracking), and visit certain free content sites I use to only visit using untraceable devices on open wifi. Very happy with PIA.

GBPrivate Internet Access Security I have had no securtiy problems since I started using PIA! I like the settings features and the multiple server locations! PIA has also allowed me to use websites that denied my location!

NLDid not work in China Had to work in China for a few months. Took out a three-year subscription on the basis of reviews. Wherever I was in China: PIA did not work. Pityful smiles from my Chinese collegues, who all have six or seven VPN’s on their phones, not one of them being PIA. They gave me access to VPN’s that DID work. Requested a refund from PIA. Their reaction: ‘ well, this is China- and sometimes PIA does not work, there - and by way: you are too late to ask for a refund, so in spite of the fact that we sold you something that did not work and we kind of forgot to mention that in the sales blurb - no refund for you’. My personal advice (AND the advice of the people who have to work around the ‘VPN-harassment’ of the Chinese government each day:): if you have to be anywhere near China, take Shadowrocket.
