NZPositive reviews are fake Skipping through videos is slugging. Scrolling through the library is sluggish. You can't right click anything except a playing video to get any options. Playlists don't seem to function in any real way, the listed "next" and "previous" shortcut keys don't work at all despite the UI buttons or right click option working. It's difficult to find any useful info through google as they seem to have paid to spam the top results with 5kplayer.com results. It automatically changes all file associations to itself without any prompt. About the only thing I can't think of that it does as good or better than VLC is playing specific 10-bit files without stuttering.

GBPing spikes every 10 seconds Had 0 issues with this player for a long time. I noticed I was getting this random lag spike from average 35ms to 200ms every 10 seconds. Took me three months to find out it was 5kplayer. Watched PingPlotter no issues, open 5kplayer ping spike pattern occurs, close 5kplayer no issues. Can repeat this process multiple times. Went into resource manager and noticed 5kplayer sends and receives data. So beware.

AUA great player for my mixed media… A great player for my mixed media files. The sonic performance is solid. My only criticism is that it cannot (as far as I know) import and whole directory structure of content. You have to add the individual content one folder at a time. It makes it hard to set up for an extensive music collection such as I have.

GB5k Player interfered with a legacy app… 5k Player interfered with a legacy app that I use to transfer files from a Toppy PVR. 5k player not started by me so when attempting to uninstall it I discovered it was running in the background without my permission. 5k player appears to launch itself at startup so to uninstall you have to kill the process in task manager first. Bad practice by the developer{s). I wont be reinstalling. Shame as it plays h265 videos that VLC cant play. I will have to find another media player for those files VLC fails to play.

GBI don't usually write reviews but I see… I don't usually write reviews but I see so many negatives ones here I felt compelled to chime in. I downloaded this player out of frustration of getting various picture quality from the various known players, and not being able to get any of them to play my 4K HDR movies. This one plays them perfectly and also plays my HD movies at the same quality so I don't have to keep adjusting setting. The only thing I can't seem to find is a frame-by-frame advance. But everything else is perfect, and the sound is amazing.
