With the presenter's natural speech with pauses and hesitation, I wondered where the transcription would end each sentence... Nailed it nearly 100% of the time, but I think you'd have to add in inverted commas yourself for dialogue, if it was an audio of a novel. And it was very fast in delivery...a few minutes. I'm hugely impressed.

great name, even better software 🦜 Cockatoo is THE BEST. Their software = ease. It's fast and intuitive and when you have to transcribe half-hour podcasts like me... a real time-saver. With it, I can just focus on editing and curating each interview, which is the fun part. Can't recommend enough! 💪

Cockatoo is a life-changer Cockatoo is a life-changer. The quality of the Cockatoo transcriptions is really good - I’ve tried almost everything, and used every laborious process, over the years. My work is interview-based, and involves interviewing many different people. Cockatoo is the first to provide genuinely useable transcripts, super-fast and incredibly reasonably priced. It’s not perfect, and Maori words in particular do not transcribe well (which is an issue, as here in Aotearoa New Zealand we’re all using far more te reo Maori in our daily lives) but, in general, it is a godsend. I’ve recommended it to many others.

But it is fine, because then you only have to listen once in normal speed to correct the few issues (predictables) of the transcript. I will 100% sure come back to cockatoo for my next transcripts. A couple of comments though : more transparency about the storage of data (where, how long, possible complete destruction of both transcript and video/audio) would be very welcome. Or maybe propose an offline software alternative for confidential data (very often in research). Those would be very helpful improvements !

Accurate and fast transcription, saved me tons of time I used to do transcriptions the old way many years ago. It was quite time consuming. Later I used real time transcribing with my recordings, which was helpful. This newer AI tool is way more accurate than transcribing software I used before, did quite well with different accents in Turkish, and did the job quite fast, highly recommended.
